The Elizabethan Syngers is open to any musician committed to a high
level of music making, preparation to the highest of standards, & great energy in performance. For auditions; musicality, sightsinging, vowel
production, memory & vocal agility are tested through the use of musical examples, exercises & vocal scales. No prepared solo is required. Auditions last approximately 15 minutes. The Syngers perform in full madrigalia costume, with music memorized & for full days of events at the MN Renaissance Fest as well as holiday performances. Regular rehearsals are Tuesday evenings May through September for the festival season & October through December for the holiday season. The Syngers is community ensemble & does not offer compensation outside of admittance to the MN Renn Fair. Access to or purchase of an approved madrigal costume is a necessity & can be found through our costume committee.
The Elizabethan Syngers, under the direction of Jason Horner, are celebrating their 33rd season as an ensemble dedicated to quality musicianship & community involvement. It is one of four performance groups operating within the White Bear Choral Assoc. Having a relationship with the MN Renn Fair for most of their existence & being recognized as an excellent ensemble for the holiday season around the Twin Cities metro area, the Elizabethan Syngers is dedicated to preserving, promoting, & performing music of & inspired by the Renaissance period.
