Yesterday, I was featured on Go Rainbow Radio for a one-hour radio interview punctuated by four of the new songs from the upcoming album, Albatross.

Tim Corrimal, the host of Go Rainbow Radio, had a great time talking about everything from politics to the GLBT community.

Find out why I was on my knees when I composed the song, "Persephone", how I got into the music industry and what I really think of what's going on in politics today.

Hey guys,

As you know, you are always the first to hear new music. Our fifth song, "The Devil's Hand" is up at: http://www.myspace.com/secretethereal.

This song is very dear to me in so many ways. It was two years in the making for me to be able to write about this extremely sensitive topic.

I think musically, "The Devil's Hand" is the best song to date. I want to credit our guest on electric guitar, Eric Esplugues. He added something quite unique to this song, rounding it out with an incredible solo rift that drifts throughout the song, in and out of the vocals and bassline giving it a richer, fuller sound.

I think you will all honestly love this one. I know I do.

Ethereal's Newsletter #7 – Baby Blue, An interview and A Second Life

Hey guys,

Life has definitely changed a lot for me in the past couple of months. Our fourth song, Baby Blue, is now up on My Space ,I was requested to give an interview for the E-Zine, Above Ground Testing that should be up in a few days and Kat of the podcast Kat's Place has been playing my music in an online game called, "Second Life". It's kind of like the SIMS. I've played it, once. It was interesting but I couldn't even navigate around, I kept knocking into walls. lol! You can tell I am definitely not the online gaming type. **smiles** Oh well, I can't do everything…although I do try.

I watched, "The Secret" and it basically gave me my very own, "Second Life". I've been on a "Laws of Attraction" kick ever since seeing that movie. I'm reading a great book right now called, "Friendship with God" which is part of a series that started with a book called "Conversations with God". They're inspiring and life-changing books and they don't speak to any one religion or spiritual belief. They are open to everybody.

I decided to take a break from night school for at least a year so I can concentrate fully on finishing this album and writing a novel. That's right, after wanting to begin a full-length novel since I was about 7, I've finally started one. I plan to publish it under my real name too, so there will be a kind of `melding of worlds' for me when that happens. I'll keep you guys updated as I go along.

Queer Shorts, so far, I hear is doing very well and getting excellent reviews! Check it out if you haven't already at www.queershorts.com.

So, now we are in the studio recording, "The Devil's Hand". This song is going to be like "Persephone" because it returns to the Industrial, hard-hitting sound that she had. Definitely looks like the next "single" so to speak.

Sending a message to tell you that "Baby Blue" is up for a sneak preview on the "Secret Ethereal" My Space account!

"Baby Blue" is unlike anything Terrence and I have done to date. It's very experimental, minimal and downtempo.

It's my dark-wave dedication to my inner child.

The instrumentation is a combination of analog synths and keyboard mixed together with a drum kit and the vocals are very raw.

For those of you who have a copy of Mythillogical, my debut album, Baby Blue is the "Music Box" of this album.

Lyrically, this is my most emotionally naked song.

The Secret

This is a movie that I watched on Monday that truly changed my perspective on life and is helping me get through a tough time. I posted it on both of my blogs and I want to share it with all of you. It has nothing to do with my music or the book, it's much more important. **smiles** Blessings to each of you. Ethereal.

The Secret is all about "The Laws of Attraction". The most important lesson I learned from watching, The Secret is that when we push against what we don't want, we actually attract it to us. What we need to do is focus on what we do want.

For example, when we are struggling with our bills and we're thinking, "I don't want to be in debt."

We are actually attracting more debt!

Instead, we should be saying, "Money comes easily and frequently into my life."

Therefore, we are not speaking of or even thinking about the negative, but focusing on the positive; i.e.: what we do want to eliminate what we don't.

Instead of thinking, "I don't want to be sick." Think, "I am healthy in every way."

Therefore, you put your desire in the present tense as if it has already happened and it is already yours. The universe gets this message and it will automatically be attracted into your life.

The Steps

1.     Ask for what you want

2.     The Universe answers

3.     Receive what you have asked for

Yes, it's that simple.

To do this, however, your deeds must be in alignment with your thoughts.

A simple example of this would be thinking, "I've won the lottery", without ever having purchased a ticket.

Remember:

Thoughts become Things

Get a pen and a paper and begin a paragraph with this:

"I am happy now that…"

Continue that sentence with a few sentences or even a couple of pages of what you want and need as if is has already happened.

Read it to yourself each day.

Gratitude

Hang onto your gratitude; it will change your attitude.

Get that pen again and write down a list of all of things you are grateful for.

When you list and are genuinely thankful for the good in your life, you will attract more things, people and situations to be grateful for.

When you focus on what is going wrong in your life, you will attract more things, people and situations that will go wrong in your life.

Visualize = Materialize

Don't just write down what you want and pray and or wish for it, visualize it!

Want a promotion?

Then imagine yourself on that big day shaking your bosses hand as he offers you one

Need money?

Imagine yourself coming into money and being able to save it. Even if you're not sure how the money is coming to you, picture yourself holding it, depositing it or spending it.

Feel it. Know it. Smell it. It's real.

Go one step further:

Cut out photographs of what you want. Go online and download pictures of money, symbols of love, success, a new car, a home, or whatever it is you are searching for and make a collage. Put it up somewhere where you can see it!  ( I just had a blast doing it myself!)

Relationships

If you're in a relationship (any type of relationship) where the person you are around is difficult to deal with, instead of focusing on their negative qualities and what you would love for them not to do, focus on their positive qualities and think of what you want them to do.

Health

If you're in a poor state of health, repeat to yourself, or as part of a prayer: "Thank you for my healing".

Do not dwell on the disease or illness by talking about it or focusing your energy on it. Instead, focus your energy on being healthy.

Change the thought of: "I don't want this disease" to "I am healthy and whole."

Remember

When you push against what you do not want, you attract it to you like a magnet.

When you focus on what you do want, you attract it to you like a magnet.

Don't be anti-war, be pro-peace.

Fear

Fear of not enough causes greed, jealously and rage which leads to the violence and murder we see in the world today. A lot of humanity is truly stuck in a pattern of their own creation.

Break the pattern

Focus on what you WANT, not what you DON'T WANT

Terrence is staying and we are working on a FULL – LENGTH Album! So, instead of a release this fall, Albatross will most likely be out in the spring of next year. Only 18 copies left of Mythillogical, my debut album. They are sitting here in my apartment waiting for you to claim your copy before they are GONE!

During the initial pressing of the CD, only 90 copies were made to see how they would sell before more would be released. However, after the falling out with my record label over a year ago, all ties were severed and a hard copy of the CD will never be printed again.

Mythillogical will always remain available for download on I Tunes and Music Match but never again will you be able to buy the album in its original packaging with cover art and lyrics.

New Single by May!

I'm very happy to report that, "Persephone", the brand new single off of the upcoming EP, Albatross will be available in two weeks! And as `Ethereal Circle' members, you will be the first to have it in your possession, free to download and share!

For those of you who have my debut album, Mythillogical, get ready for a brand new sound. Where `Myth' was Tori Amos meets Evanescence `Albatross' is Shirley Manson from Garbage meets Depeche Mode. I've been having a lot of fun putting the new lyrics to this electronic, almost light industrial sound.

Hello everybody,

This is newsletter number 2 from the Ethereal Circle. I have a lot of updates for you.

Persephone

First off, I'd like to let you guys know that the first single from the new album, "Persephone" is in final mastering as we speak. The sound is very industrial. A Trent Reznor meets Depeche Mode kind of song. It's very danceable. It's definitely a far cry from my first album but I'm enjoying finding my voice in this new electronic medium. Terrence and I are layering some "real" instrumentation along with the electronic drum loops and driving beats. He plays bass and heavy guitar in this song and it adds a nice feeling of blending the two worlds together.

Music Video!

Yes, I plan to have a music video for the first single. I hope to shoot it in the Spring. I'm going to really embody this character, so you'll see me in makeup and dress that you wouldn't ordinarily. This song has a very gothic theme and I'm looking forward to exploring that.

TV Appearance

I don't know how soon but I am going to do a guest appearance on the Wallingford Cable Show – Planet Access  hosted by Joe Jackowski. Check out their MySpace account to find out more about Planet Access.

I Tunes

As most of you know, my debut album, Mythillogical, was a limited edition release. However, all is not lost. I still have more hard copies and they will be forever downloadable from I Tunes.

There will be two main themes for the new EP, tentatively titled, "Albatross". The themes will be, my inner child and current national events. >>

This title just came to me and I wondered at first if it was going to be the title of a song. Then I re-read "The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" and the main theme stuck out for me. The Ancient Mariner was doomed to tell his tale and wear the albatross around his neck forever because of his guilt. Again, the title has a two-fold meaning. As a person who was abused as a child and who is now openly speaking about it, I feel that like the Ancient Mariner, I am wearing my albatross, crossing the seas and telling my tale over and over. I also tell the tale of others, the broader tales of national and political relations from my point of view.

Sadly, Terrence is planning to relocate to the West Coast in a matter of months so we will most likely only have time to do the EP. If plans change and his work does not require relocation we may consider a full-length album.

The new single will be called, "Persephone" and as soon as we can get her all done in the studio and then legally copyrighted, she'll be all yours for the listening. This may take some time but be patient, new music is definitely coming.
