On August 19th, 2007, I put out a call to fans to see who would like to remix my song, "Persephone". Out of a handful of responses, I agreed to work with Chris-Oliver Goetzki, a talented musician from Germany.
Within a few months, we had an awesome remix called, "The Gothic Gypsy Remix". Unfortunately, the legal release paperwork hit a huge snag and the remix only saw rotation in my IPod.
A HUGE thank you to Chris-Oliver for his hard work and patience. It's an excellent mix. I've loved it for two years and now, I get to share it with you.

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over
the laundry,
and pick you up and take you to the park to

*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes
in the sink,

*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the

keep the computer off, and sit with you in the

blow bubbles.
*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once,
not even a

ice cream truck
and I will buy you one if he comes by.
*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about

every decision
I have made where you are concerned.
*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me
bake cookies,
and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.
*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to

us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.

a story about how you were born and how much I
love you.

Rasmussen Family: (l to r) Dave, Mark, Samantha, Kim and Zack.
As some of you may have already heard, Vemma Ambassador Dave Rasmussen and his family suffered a tragic loss last night. His 18 year old son, Mark, died in a bus accident that happened when the family was returning from a ski trip. Dave and his 4 year old son, Zack, and 16 year old daughter, Samantha, were hospitalized briefly, but his wife, Kim, is in surgery with a punctured lung, broken leg and fractured vertebrae. Another part of this tragedy is that Samantha’s best friend since the 4th grade who accompanied them on the trip was also killed.
There is a great story of Dave and his family as they were featured in the last Your Business from Home magazine, and he was a major part of the inspiration behind the launch of Vemma. Please keep Dave and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Life can change in a split second - hold those you love close and let them know how much you love them.
I’ve included a couple links below to the story on the accident:

Terrence and I finished up work on the final song, "Closet Masochist" in November. He and his family have since moved out to sunny California where Albatross is getting her finishing touches. I'm also working with a great guy out in Germany who is doing a killer remix of "Persephone" which will be included on the album. It will still be a few more months before the final mix is done and the album is out but I feel this will be worth the long wait. Right now, I'm working on getting more podcast airplay, designing a photo shoot in my head and putting my music on that now-popular music widget on My Space, Project Playlist.
If you have one of these on your My Space, Friendster, TagWorld, etc. account, please add my songs!
As soon as I have photos and more songs, you'll be the first to know! If you have any ideas on how I can increase exposure of the music before Albatross is released, please let me know. All thoughts are welcome (especially the zany ones. ;) )
A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up.
Then he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to "Dad." With the worst premonition he opened the envelope with trembling hands and read the letter.
Dear Dad:
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice. But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercings, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it's not only the passion...Dad she's pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.
Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy. In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it. Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to know your grandchildren.
Love, Your Son John
P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report card that's in my center desk drawer.

Hello all,
I know it's been forever since my last message. For those of you who
I don't know personally, it may seem as though I fell off the face of
the earth.
Well, I'm still here. I had a rough summer starting with the rather
sudden end of a relationship followed by a diagnosis of skin cancer,
an operation oh yeah, and a car accident.
I'm not dead. I'm just in the process of healing both physically and
emotionally from everything that has taken place in my life over the
past few months.
The skin cancer is gone due to the operation. My car accident turned
out to be an odd blessing in disguise as the insurance money I
collected went to pay off a loan I'd been trying to rid myself of for
year now.
The relationship? You guys know me. It'll be on the album. ;)
Speaking of which, the album has been on hold for quite some time now
due to the arrival of a baby boy for my musician-friend, Terrence. We
were just going to go back into the studio when things started going
downhill on my end. So, sad to say, I have not seen the studio in
four months.
We're planning on making Albatross a nine song album due to the
possibility of a move on Terrence's part. I'll try to squeeze out 10.
I have a thing with that being the proper length for a CD.
So, the album will be coming out late but it will be coming out. I'm
thinking probably winter of 2008.
Please go to my site if you would like to read my blog on the cancer
and surgery.

Great news! I now have my very own online store absolutely PACKED with merchandise I designed myself. You can check it out here: http://www.cafepress.com/etherealvox . Because you're members of The Ethereal Circle, you'll be one of the very people to view the shop unless it's been stumbled upon by mistake.
I know some of you are familair with Cafe Press and they have quite a high mark-up so for Circle members I have marked each item only ONE DOLLAR above the base price.
I make a dollar and YOU don't have to pay an arm and a leg.
Take a look around and let me know what you think.
If you have any design ideas or there is something you'd like to see, send me a request and I'll see what I can do for you.

I'm truly sorry for the people in your life going through such loss and pain. If I had some money to donate I would in a moment. I'm sorry I couldn't help.
All I can do is pray for them right now.
I'm unemployed, since last March, and still haven't found a full time job. My income is 1/3rd what is was, with no unemployment left. I'm only working part time and no supplimental income.
God Bless You & Your Family.

Hey guys, usually when you get an email from me, I'm promoting my music. This time, I'm trying to help my family. Please read below and thank you for anything you can offer.
I have terrible news. My extended family suffered a terrible tragedy when their home caught fire on Monday, February 5th, 2007 at 1:00am.
Mary, a senior citizen, suffered second degree burns to her face and hands. She is still hospitalized and in fair condition.
Jimmy, her son suffered minor injuries and was released from the hospital on the same day.
The house was not covered by homeowners insurance and neither mother nor son have any type of medical coverage. Due to the fire, Mary is unable to work right now due to her injuries and Jimmy is currently unemployed as well.
This was their only place of refuge and now they are, quite literally, homeless.
You can read the full story in our local paper, see photographs that I took today while helping my family recover personal effects, and find out how you can help.
I know the PayPal link says $5 but I just put that in there to have an amount in the box.
Anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I will make sure that any contributions made to Mary and Jimmy are distributed equally between them.
Please click here to read story, view photos and make a donation.

Yesterday, I was featured on Go Rainbow Radio for a one-hour radio interview punctuated by four of the new songs from the upcoming album, Albatross.
Tim Corrimal, the host of Go Rainbow Radio, had a great time talking about everything from politics to the GLBT community.
Find out why I was on my knees when I composed the song, "Persephone", how I got into the music industry and what I really think of what's going on in politics today.
This song is very dear to me in so many ways. It was two years in the making for me to be able to write about this extremely sensitive topic.
I think musically, "The Devil's Hand" is the best song to date. I want to credit our guest on electric guitar, Eric Esplugues. He added something quite unique to this song, rounding it out with an incredible solo rift that drifts throughout the song, in and out of the vocals and bassline giving it a richer, fuller sound.
I think you will all honestly love this one. I know I do.
Ethereal's Newsletter #7 – Baby Blue, An interview and A Second Life
Hey guys,
Life has definitely changed a lot for me in the past couple of months. Our fourth song, Baby Blue, is now up on My Space ,I was requested to give an interview for the E-Zine, Above Ground Testing that should be up in a few days and Kat of the podcast Kat's Place has been playing my music in an online game called, "Second Life". It's kind of like the SIMS. I've played it, once. It was interesting but I couldn't even navigate around, I kept knocking into walls. lol! You can tell I am definitely not the online gaming type. **smiles** Oh well, I can't do everything…although I do try.
I watched, "The Secret" and it basically gave me my very own, "Second Life". I've been on a "Laws of Attraction" kick ever since seeing that movie. I even started my own private blog where I can hold some of my thoughts while on this journey. If you would like to see this movie for yourself, you can view it free on My Space by clicking here:
I'm reading a great book right now called, "Friendship with God" which is part of a series that started with a book called "Conversations with God". They're inspiring and life-changing books and they don't speak to any one religion or spiritual belief. They are open to everybody.
I decided to take a break from night school for at least a year so I can concentrate fully on finishing this album and writing a novel. That's right, after wanting to begin a full-length novel since I was about 7, I've finally started one. I plan to publish it under my real name too, so there will be a kind of `melding of worlds' for me when that happens. I'll keep you guys updated as I go along.
Queer Shorts, so far, I hear is doing very well and getting excellent reviews! Check it out if you haven't already at www.queershorts.com.
So, now we are in the studio recording, "The Devil's Hand". This song is going to be like "Persephone" because it returns to the Industrial, hard-hitting sound that she had. Definitely looks like the next "single" so to speak.
A huge thank you to the podcasters who have been playing my music: The list is as follows:
This is a movie that I watched on Monday that truly changed my perspective on life and is helping me get through a tough time. I posted it on both of my blogs and I want to share it with all of you. It has nothing to do with my music or the book, it's much more important. **smiles** Blessings to each of you. Ethereal.
The Secret is all about "The Laws of Attraction". The most important lesson I learned from watching, The Secret is that when we push against what we don't want, we actually attract it to us. What we need to do is focus on what we do want.
For example, when we are struggling with our bills and we're thinking, "I don't want to be in debt."
We are actually attracting more debt!
Instead, we should be saying, "Money comes easily and frequently into my life."
Therefore, we are not speaking of or even thinking about the negative, but focusing on the positive; i.e.: what we do want to eliminate what we don't.
Instead of thinking, "I don't want to be sick." Think, "I am healthy in every way."
Therefore, you put your desire in the present tense as if it has already happened and it is already yours. The universe gets this message and it will automatically be attracted into your life.
The Steps
1.Ask for what you want
2.The Universe answers
3.Receive what you have asked for
Yes, it's that simple.
To do this, however, your deeds must be in alignment with your thoughts.
A simple example of this would be thinking, "I've won the lottery", without ever having purchased a ticket.
Remember:
ThoughtsbecomeThings
Get a pen and a paper and begin a paragraph with this:
"I am happy now that…"
Continue that sentence with a few sentences or even a couple of pages of what you want and need as if is has already happened.
Read it to yourself each day.
Gratitude
Hang onto your gratitude; it will change your attitude.
Get that pen again and write down a list of all of things you are grateful for.
When you list and are genuinely thankful for the good in your life, you will attract more things, people and situations to be grateful for.
When you focus on what is going wrong in your life, you will attract more things, people and situations that will go wrong in your life.
Visualize = Materialize
Don't just write down what you want and pray and or wish for it, visualize it!
Want a promotion?
Then imagine yourself on that big day shaking your bosses hand as he offers you one
Need money?
Imagine yourself coming into money and being able to save it. Even if you're not sure how the money is coming to you, picture yourself holding it, depositing it or spending it.
Feel it. Know it. Smell it. It's real.
Go one step further:
Cut out photographs of what you want. Go online and download pictures of money, symbols of love, success, a new car, a home, or whatever it is you are searching for and make a collage. Put it up somewhere where you can see it! ( I just had a blast doing it myself!)
Relationships
If you're in a relationship (any type of relationship) where the person you are around is difficult to deal with, instead of focusing on their negative qualities and what you would love for them not to do, focus on their positive qualities and think of what you want them to do.
Health
If you're in a poor state of health, repeat to yourself, or as part of a prayer: "Thank you for my healing".
Do not dwell on the disease or illness by talking about it or focusing your energy on it. Instead, focus your energy on being healthy.
Change the thought of: "I don't want this disease" to "I am healthy and whole."
Remember
When you push against what you do not want, you attract it to you like a magnet.
When you focus on what you do want, you attract it to you like a magnet.
Don't be anti-war, be pro-peace.
Fear
Fear of not enough causes greed, jealously and rage which leads to the violence and murder we see in the world today. A lot of humanity is truly stuck in a pattern of their own creation.
Break the pattern
Focus on what you WANT, not what you DON'T WANT

Queer Shorts is finally ready to go to press THIS WEEK!
If you recall, my short story, "Room for Rent" is being featured in this new GLBT anthology, Queer Shorts.
"Room for Rent" is the story of Laurie and Chris, an unlikely pair of individuals who meet when Laurie answers an ad in the local paper advertising a roommate situation. At first Laurie believes her enigmatic new roomie is an eccentric and shy gay male but one night, she awakes to the sound of splashing from the pool downstairs and what she sees surprises her and leads them both on a journey of discovery in gender identity and expression. As they overcome prejudice and struggles, the two find a common ground and form a bond that changes both of their lives for the better.
