Just to introduce myself...
I am currently living in Japan, but I first studied Shakuhachi 21
years ago with Yoshikazu Iwamoto in Devon. After that I was Yokoyama
Katsuya Senseis worst student in Tokyo for many years...
I am a UK citizen so I am interested to hear what is going on in
Europe and the UK. Also I am keen to make friends/keep in touch with
players in Europe.
I just read Kiku Day's posting on another list regarding this group
so I signed up immediately...
Not much time in my life for Shakuhachi paractice at present,
pressures of work and two very small children... I hope to get back
to playing soon, I need it for therapy!
I have been specially intrerested in Dokyoku, Honkyoku, compositions
of Fukuda Rando (which I don't particularly like but my Japanese
neighbours do), and ensemble music traditional and slightly modern.
I am especially keen to hear from anyone who is composing for
Shakuhachi.
I amn also keen to hear of performances and concerts in Europe in
case I am visiting at the time.
Best regards to you all
Bill
