The 2009 Annual General Meeting of the European Shakuhachi Society will be held
on 25th July 2009, at 12:30.
Venue: Muziekschool BplusC, Rapenburg 22 2311 EW Leiden, Netherlands

This will be within the framework of the 2009 European Shakuhachi Summer School
in Leiden.

The business to be dealt with is as follows:
- presentation of annual report;
- presentation of financial report;
- election of office bearers for 2009-2010;
- discussion of future ESS activities, including Summer School 2010.

For the election of office bearers, nominations are called for all positions, as
follows:
(a) chairperson (current incumbent: Jim Franklin);
(b) treasurer (current incumbent: Michael Coxall);
(c) secretary (current incumbent: Véronique Piron);
(d) media and communications officer (current incumbent: Kiku Day);
(e) publications officer (current incumbent: Stephanie Hiller).

Of the current incumbents, Jim Franklin is standing down as chairperson and
Stephanie Hiller as publications officer . Nominations for chairperson and
publications officer are thus urgently required, and the new incumbents will be
decided by election.

The other incumbents have indicated their willingness to exercise their offices
for a further year. Should no nominations for these positions be received, the
current incumbents will be declared elected unopposed. Should nominations for
one or more these positions be received, the incumbent(s) for the position(s) in
question will be decided by election.

To nominate an ESS member, please send an e-mail with subject "ESS committee
nomination" to Jim Franklin, dr_jim_franklin(at)t-online.de , listing the
position(s) and person(s) nominated. Persons nominated must also indicate their
willingness to accept a nomination. This may be done by sending an e-mail to Jim
Franklin with subject "ESS nomination acceptance", indicating which position and
nomination is being accepted. It is the responsibility of the member making the
nomination to ensure that the person accepting the nomination sends the message
accepting nomination.

It is allowable for a member to nominate him- or herself as a candidate for an
office.

Nominations and acceptances must be received by 18.07.2009. After this time, a
list of candidates and an explanation of procedures for proxy voting will be
circulated by e-mail.

Die jährliche Vollversammlung der Europäischen Shakuhachi-Gesellschaft findet am
25. Juli 2009 um 12:30 statt.
Ort: Muziekschool BplusC, Rapenburg 22 2311 EW Leiden, Holland.

Dies geschieht im Rahmen der Europäischen Shakuhachi Sommerschule 2009 in
Leiden.

Die Tagesordnung besteht aus folgenden Punkten:
- Vorlegen des Jahresberichtes;
- Vorlegen des finanziellen Berichtes;
- Wahl der Amtsinhaber 2009-2010;
- Überlegungen zu künftigen Veranstlatungen usw. der ESS, darunter Sommerschule
2010.

Im Vorfeld der Wahl der Amtsinhaber sind Kandidatenvorschläge für alle Ämter wie
folgt gefragt:
(a) Vorsitzende(r) (jetziger Inhaber: Jim Franklin);
(b) Schatzmeister(in) (jetziger Inhaber: Michael Coxall)
(c) Sekretär(in) (jetzige Inhaberin: Véronique Piron)
(d) Medien- und Kommunikationsbeauftragte(r) (jetzige Inhaberin: Kiku Day);
(e) Veröffentlichungsbeauftragte(r) (jetzige Inhaberin: Stephanie Hiller).

Unter den jetzigen Amtsinhabern tritt Jim Franklin von seiner Rolle als
Vorsitzender zurück, und Stephanie Hiller von seiner Rolle als
Veröffentlichungsbeauftragter zurück. Nominierungen für das Amt des Vorsitzenden
und des Veröffentlichungsbeauftragten sind also dringend gefragt; der neue
Vorsitzende (oder die neue Vorsitzende) und der neue
Veröffentlichungsbeauftragte (oder die neue Veröffentlichungsbeauftragte) wird
durch die Wahl bestimmt.

Die anderen Amtsinhaber haben sich bereit erklärt, noch ein Jahr lang ihre
Rollen auszuüben. Sollten keine Nominierungen für diese Rollen vorliegen, werden
die jetzigen Inhaber für weidergewählt erklärt werden. Falls Nominierungen für
eins oder mehrere dieser Ämter vorliegen, werden die Inhäber jener Ämter durch
die Wahl bestimmt werden.

Um ein MItglied der ESS als Kandidat für ein Amt zu nominieren, schicken Sie
bitte eine E-mail mit Betreffzeile "ESS Gremium Nominierung" an Jim Franklin,
dr_jim_franklin(at)t-online.de. Geben Sie dabei das Amt und die nominierte
Person an. Nominierte Kandidaten müssen auch ihre Bereitschaft signalisieren,
die Nominierung anzunehmen. Dies geschieht durch eine E-mail an Jim Franklin mit
Betreffzeile "ESS Nominierungsannahme", unter Angabe des Amtes und der
akzeptierten Nominierung. Der Nominierende ist dafür verantwortlich, dass der
Nominierte die annehmende E-mail verschickt.

Es ist zulässig, dass ein Mitglied sich selbst für ein Amt nominiert.

Nominierungen und Annahmen müssen bis 18.07.2009 eintreffen. Nach diesem
Zeitpunkt wird eine Liste der Kandidaten zusammen mit Anweisungen für
Wahlbeteiligung bei Abwesenheit von der Vollversammlung per E-mail zugestellt.

L'Assemblée Générale 2009 de le Fédération Européenne du Shakuhachi se tiendra
le 25 juillet 2009 à 12h30.

Elle se déroulera lors de la Rencontre Européenne Estivale 2009 du Shakuhachi à
Leiden.

Les sujets abordés seront les suivants:
présentation du rapport annuel;
présentation du rapport financier;
élection des membres du conseil d'administration 2009-2010;
discussion sur les activités futures de le fédération, dont la Rencontre
Estivale de 2010.

Pour les élections des membres du conseil d'administration, toutes les positions
sont appellées à être nommé, comme suit:
(a) président (en place actuellement: Jim Franklin);
(b) trésorier (en place actuellement: Michael Coxall);
(c) secrétaire (en place actuellement: Véronique Piron);
(d) administrateur des médias et de la communication (en place actuellement:
Kiku Day);
(e) administrateur des publications (en place actuellement: Stephanie Hiller).

Parmis les administrateurs actuels, Jim Franklin quitte la position de président
et Stephanie Hiller celle d'administrateur des publications, aussi des
candidatures pour les postes de président et d'administrateur des publications
sont elles appelées urgemment.
Les nouveaux administrateurs seront nommés par élection.

Les autres administrateurs ont indiqué leur volonté d'exercer leur fonction pour
une année supplémentaire. Si aucune candidature pour ces positions ne sont
reçues, les administrateurs actuels seront déclarés sortants rééligibles. Si des
candidatures pour l'une ou l'autre de ces positions sont reçues, les
administrateurs pour les positions concernées seront nommés par élection.

Pour proposer la nomination d'un membre de la fédération, envoyez un courriel
avec le titre "nomination du bureau ESS" à dr_jim_franklin(at)t-online.de ,
avec la liste des positions et des personnes à nommer.
Les candidats à une nomination doivent aussi indiquer leur volonté d'accepter
une nomination et cela doit être fait en envoyant un courriel avec le titre
"accord pour nomination ESS" en indiquant quelle position et nomination est
acceptée.
Il est de la responsabilité du membre qui propose la nomination d'une personnne
de s'assurer que la personne en question acceptant une nomination ai bien envoyé
un message d'accord pour la dite nomination.

Il est permis à un membre de se proposer lui ou elle même comme candidat à un
poste.

Les nominations et les accords doivent être reçus au plus tard le 18 juillet
2009. Après cette date, une liste des candidats et une explication de la
procédure de vote par proxy seront envoyées dans une circulaire électronique.
