**** EX-RENTAL News Update (September 2000) ****

Hello again.... remember us? It's been a long time since the last Ex-
Rental update, but don't worry - we haven't disappeared off the face
of the planet!

We've been hard at work on new material, updating our sound to
reflect our current preferred listening and we've decided to postpone
our live debut (yes, again!) until we've recruited a backing/co-lead
vocalist. We decided that the music we really want to be making
needs a second vocalist, so advertisements will shortly be appearing
in the music press.

However, the main reason we're telling you all this is because the
advertising campaign involves the use of the group's website, and
excerpts of three brand new Ex-Rental demos are going to be made
available, to help indicate to potential vocalists the current sound
of the group. Of course, our sound changes all the time (we don't
believe in making the same record over and over again), but we
thought it would be best to show where we're at this week, rather
than rely on the 1999 demos already on the website (fabulous though
they are, of course).

So, although these new sound files aren't full-length songs, you can
now hear clips from the following three demo tracks, all of which
have a slight R'n'B flavour (whilst retaining the character of Ex-
Rental, of course - we haven't suddenly become Destiny's Child, for
better or for worse!) - all are available as lo-fi RealAudio files or
MP3s....

These tracks are only rough demos, which we'll re-record with the new
vocalist when we find them. So have no fear - those occasional off-
key moments will be rectified in due course....!

We're always interested in hearing what you think of our material, so

we're perfectionists, you see....)
