Hello again - here's what's happening in the world of Ex-Rental... and
there's a lot!

SNAKEBITE CITY 11

This bargain 22-track compilation features a new mix of "Sophie's Audition"
alongside tracks by bands you may have seen play with Ex-Rental, such as Vic
Twenty, Schmoof, Riviera and Motormark, plus the likes of David Devant & His
Spirit Wife, Ciccone, Meanwhile Back In Communist China and more.

It should be in most good UK music stores from today, though if your local
shop doesn't have it, they'll be able to order it for you (unless they're
Woolworths or Safeway or something!). And don't pay too much for it, as
it's supposed to be cheap! You can also order it direct from the label at

NEW REMIX

I've just remixed "On The Prowl" by Italian DJ duo Blow Up, which features
guest vocals by NYC underground icon Lydia Lunch, who's previously worked
with Sonic Youth, Nick Cave, Brian Eno and many others.

The remix will appear on the US edition of Blow Up's forthcoming album, "In
Technicolor", and also on a special promo 12". The album also includes
collaborations with the fabulous Deborah Harry of Blondie and the late great
Dee Dee Ramone, so it should be well worth a listen.


FORTHCOMING RELEASES

Intellectos Records will be treating the USA to a generous helping of
Ex-Rental in April, with the release of a rather long EP entitled "This Is A
Demonstration". Closer in length to an album than most bands' EPs, it'll be
a mix of familiar and not-so-familiar songs alongside brand new remixes by
other artists.

Also, Intellectos are soon to release a new compilation album, "Intellectos
Manifesto Volume 2", which will not only feature the Ex-Rental song
"Masculin Feminin", but also tracks by Hanin Elias (ex-Atari Teenage Riot),
Freezepop, Winterbrief, Broken Spindles (new side-project by Joel of The
Faint), The Guy Who Invented Fire and many more.

Release dates for both CDs should be in the next news update, though details
will soon be posted on http://www.intellectos.com if you want to check that
in the meantime...


GIRLSTUFFBOYSTUFF

If you happen to be in Canada, watch out for episode nine of animated series
"GirlStuffBoyStuff" (http://girlstuffboystuff.com), which features excerpts
of "And Sometimes" and "Professional Assistance". Hopefully, the series
will be broadcast worldwide later this year, as season two is likely to
feature several more Ex-Rental tunes...


BUTTONED DOWN DISCO

Finally, if you're in London on a Saturday night, you can currently catch
former Ex-Rental member Lucy and I DJ-ing at Buttoned Down Disco in Mayfair
(9pm - midnight). For one more week only, you can get in for free before
