Description

A discussion point for FM sound synthesis, aimed at developing practical ways of working with FM.
FM: What is it? How does it work? What synthesisers use it? How do I create sounds with it?
This list is not specific to any particular synthesiser. Instead it aims to encompass all machines that have FM sound generating capabilities. This could include certain analogue machines which can be configured for FM or have "cross modulation", digital machines that can perform FM (eg: DX7, Fairlight, Synergy, Microwave XT...) or even software synths with FM timbre generation.
Anyone who enjoys sound synthesis is welcome!
