DX7 Red Planet expansion memory   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #714 of 1199 |
Hi,

I recently won on eBay a second hand expansion memory for the DX7 mkI
called "SR 320" and produced by Red Planet (Canada-1986). This
expansion memory must be inserted in the cartridge slot and gives
access to 10 banks of 32 patches each. You have two buttons on it
with a green led for the left one (which can be switched on or off
when you click on it) and a red led for the right one (which is
permanently switched on). There are three arrows drawn under each
buttons indicating the left direction for the left button and the
right direction for the right button. There are two other indications
printed on it and likely related to this famous buttons: a green
round with an equal sign and a key and a red round with an equal sign
and something with seem to represent a port or a slot.
I receive it without manual and when I insert it on my DX7 cartridge
slot I have a "FORMAT CONFLICT!" message. When I try to format it I
have a "MEMORY PROTECTED" message.
Now I have several questions: does someone here know this expansion
memory? Does someone here have an idea about how to use it?
Any help would be appreciated!

Sincerely,
Marc

Something to keep in mind is that the DX7 cartridge memory protect function is automatically enabled every time you power up the DX7. Hope that helps, Andrew ...
