Kenny Rogers and the First Edition were one of the greatest groups in the 60s and 70s. It is so hard for me to believe there are no websites, etc..., paying tribute to The First Edition. There was an amazing amount of major talent there among all of the members.
From Kenny Rogers' trademark voice, Gene Lorenzo's amazing talent on the keyboard, (and sexy good looks!), Mickey Jones' world class drumming, (and the down-to-earth, wonderful person that he is), Jimmy Hassell's hard rock/ bluesy, "scratch your back" voice, Kin Vassy's non-stop energetic showmanship,( and super comedic talent as well.), the harmonies from Thelma Camacho, and Mary Arnold's superb tamborine tapping, Mike Settle's songwriting talent, to the genius comedic timing and talent of "Guitar God" Terry Williams, The First Edition was THE group for the times.
We love Kenny, but we love all the other members too. Let's chat about the fab group that seems to be forgotten by everyone but us.
