I should have originally posted a seperate message so here goes:
Travis is playing Saturday, November 26th, at Common Grounds located
at 210 SW 2nd Ave; Gainesville, FL . Show starts at 10:00. I believe
he is playing alone.
-aynat
when does the show start, what's the name of the band? it's a 2½ hour drive for me and i'm trying to talk two of my friends into going with me.

The CD, as said before, is complete. In fact it is
sitting in a case on a bookshelf. Will it be released? that is a good
question. Money, time, effort, schmoozing, and playing out all seem to be
hurdles that life hasn't allowed to happen. I will say it is a great
CD and his newer stuff (not recorded) is even better. If anything starts
moving in the direction of being closer to happening i will put the word out.

It's been around 4 months or so since someone posted that Travis was
releasing an album...no other details have surfaced...come on folks,
what's the word on the street????
Hey, This is Amy (Townhouse #7). I joined to see how everyone is doing
and if anything new is going on. Hope everyone is well. I would love
to see Travis perform again if anyone has that info sometime. Hello to
Andy and others I recognize.
now at a month shy of 10 years. time has a way of standing still then
flying. the last 10 years have seen both. i am part of this group to
see what others who have an interest in the former groups are doing
and saying or feeling. i am interested in what Travis is up to and
wish him the best. we had our troubles but he carried so much energy
and just a plreasure to watch and listen while he played.

him/the album?
Thanks.
The song was recorded in the basement of East Hall on a little boombox. I asked Travis about it and he got a laugh " i can't believe anyone knows that song. We were just fuckin around"

I was lucky enough to see them as For
Squirrels before the accident, then saw them as For Squirrels after the
accident, then saw them as Subrosa. They are still one of my favorite
bands, and I listen to them at least once a week.

Hey Andy Bender do you still have all those old
recordings of the early live shows. I have a few and looked back for this song
but couldn't seem to find it.
It seems really crazy sitting in my office 10 years
after the demise of the group discussing songs. However when I think back on
the 100's of bands I have seen in my life none have come close to matching the
energy and promise of the Squirrels. When you where at one of there shows
you felt that you where seeing something different. Life changing.
Music was born again. Like an early Beatles show. You didn't leave the bar
to go chase some girl or go home early so you wouldn't be tired in class, you
stayed, smiled a big smile, and danced like a fool.
Some of you who never had the pleasure live will
listen to the studio albums and think "what is this fool talking
about?" But those of you who where there are thinking " The Beatles
who?"

I honestly do not remember most of the lyrics I sang for Our Times.
I
wrote some down before the show but by the time I played I didn't
remember them exactly and just threw some words together to rhyme at
the end of every other line. The lyrics for the chorus I sang were
Come around girl and you will find
Yeah come around baby and you will find
Our times, these are our times

As someone around them from the beginning, I would love to know the lyrics
you sang.

Anyway, I go to the University of Wisconsin and play a lot of
guitar. Last night I played open mic and performed a very little
known song called "Our Times". As some of you know it's of the rare
early recordings of for squirrels. I love that old stuff a lot even
though the sound quality is bad. but yeah, i paid my tribute to for
squirrels by playing that song. i had to make up different lyrics
for
most of it though cuz i couldnt make them out on the recording. haha
later,

Travis has just finished recording an album. The artwork and
printing is in the process. THe music still pours from him. He
has enough material since the recording to do another. It all
takes so much time and footwork. He has played solo here and
there, but it is always last minute and very random. When i get
wind i will post the time and date.
