2009, if we all agree, each in his/her own way, be be the year of the real life superhero, a year when more of us leap off the sidelines and into the fray of tackling issues at home or abroad negatively impacting the human condition.
I became Capt. Black after years of looking for a good name to sum up what I do. While I am a Black person, I made sure that this name stands for universal values: BROTHERHOOD-LOYALTY-ABILITY-COURAGE-KINDNESS because anyone from any background can base himself upon the same principles.
Catching criminals isn't what being a real life superhero is all about. Providing a caring presence or rallying point to support important causes is as " heroic " as stopping a bank robbery or other exceptional feat.
We cannot not sit back and let the government monopolize the protection and social service industries.
Society needs armies of concerned citizens who clean up issues in their own backyards with individual effort, team work and private sector initiative.
2009 can be the year when the average citizen arrives at the healthy conclusion that he or she isn't as average as generally thought.
Think it over and give me your feedback on what you plan to do in 2009 to become a real life superhero.
Remember, we outnumber any problem or opponent standing against us!!
