This Monday at my friend Adeeb Shabazz' weekly Self-Mastery For Everyday People class I used an old example from the early days of my motivational speaking. I stated how our dominant thoughts and feelings lead to whether our lives are prisons or prisms through which the varied light of ourselves shine. Prison or prism, that's the question. It's an especially good question for fellow Black folks often programmed with an inmate identity that authors behaviors always leading to incarceration. I think of Moorish Science Temple founder Noble Drew Ali's apt description of jails/prisons as " dismal crypts " and contend that the most dismal crypt can be a mind suffering from a prison mentality. The sum total of what we think and feel MUST lead to our becoming prisms projecting personal progress otherwise we've helped those who wish us nothing more than to be prisoners under their thumbs. NADRA ENZI AKA CAPT. BLACK's AVOIDING TROUBLE! Tour addresses the behaviors leading some to lives of constant imprisonment. (912) 272-2898 NADRACAPTBLACK@... |
