Ramcey! and friends
We were there! it's been two years since my husband Graham Hunter and I last saw
Greg
Brown (Logan and Park City, Utah, May '04, in the company of sweet Richard). We
knew it
was a no-brainer to make the 2-hour drive to Snowbird, a beautiful ski resort in
the
mountains just outside of Salt Lake City. It may have been a shorter-than-usual
show, but
after seeing Jon-0's set list at SS, I can understand why. What a magical night
that must
have been for everyone. And the day before Greg's birthday -- how cool is that?!
Nevertheless, Greg's show at Snowbird was awesomely memorable. When did he pick
up
the harmonica? Sweet, indeed. I heard a few old songs I don't think I've ever
heard live ...
and a few new ones. All in all, it was grrreat to see Greg Brown at center stage
again. And
he was accompanied by the mighty fine Jason Wilber, one of John Prine's cohorts.
SETLIST:
1. Are the Good Times Really Gone (M. Haggard)
2. This Band of Gold
3. Who Woulda Thunk It
4. Worrisome Years
5. Little You
6. Kokomo
7. Treat Each Other right
8. (don't know this song but one of the last lines was "Book of pictures for
your shelf").
This is where Greg pulled out a harmonica to play. Mighty fine!
9. Two Little Feet
10. Kentucky Moon (Jimmy Rodgers)
11. The Train Bringing Jimmy Rodgers Home
12. Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash)
Encore: It's Not Dark Yet
peace to all you Browniesl
