Saturday was a beautiful fall day in portland me and my soon to be
wife were enjoying the day when I decided to head out to the lamp
which is a bar next to the alladin theater in hopes of running into
old friends glenn and moe whom my brother doug introduced me to some
years ago, we entered the bar there they were they looked great they
welcomed us to the table and the conversation flowed faster than the
scottish ale i was drinking oh and a few vodka crans, at that point i
realized why had i waited so long to get tickets for the show ,but
lucky for me i ran outside and was able to get two tickets for that
evenings sold out show, as i returned to the table glenn gave me a
high five and we quickly paid our tabs and filed into the theater we
managed to get four seats together about eight rows back right in the
midddle as we settled in our comfortable theater seats with beer in
hand Joe price came out with his electric axe and stormed through a
sort of hillbilly blues barnstorming set which at the end left me
asking myself why had i not heard of this guy before! then it was
time for greg and I was so blown away and almost tearful when he
played some of my old favorites and some songs that were new to me,
the sound he can get out of that guitar is always amazing and voice
and emotion he plays with is why i love seeing greg live! what a
wonderful evening the best part of the night though was seeing glenn
and moe the memories we shared and the great times we had seeing greg
in the past and I thank them and of course my brother doug for
introducing me to the best of the best music which will always be a
part of my life. as we left the theater we snapped some photos and
parted ways would have liked to have visited longer after the show
but my girlfriend was tired and hungry after an awsesome day and
evening. driving home i only whished doug could have been there but
we will all meet again and looked foward to the good times ahead when
we all meet again for another show. again thanks for another
memorable evening. peace steve
