Sorry for the delay in getting this out there...
Greg played for the first time at BB King Blues Club & Grill in Times Square
(New York City) last Thursday night. Bo opened with a nice set. Don't know the
names but I enjoyed his playing and singing. Greg came out after a short break
and played the entire show with Bo. Great interaction between the two, as
always.
I'm fairly confident about the songs/order thru Driftless but then it's anyone's
guess.
Waiting on You (w/harmonica)
Bucket
Skinny Days (w/harmonica)
One Wrong Turn
Kokomo
Driftless
Pray (Merle Haggard)
Billy from the Hills
Lately
Why Do You Even Say That
Treat Each Other Right
Preaching the Blues (Son House)
Small Dark Movie
China
If I Had Known
E: Hey Baby Hey
Little Red Rooster
A good amount of talking in between songs. Greg commented about how much he
enjoyed playing at BB King's place, though Times Square sure had changed a lot
over the years (and not so much to his liking). He said how much he enjoys
being on the road with his best friend (Bo said the same during his set). Same
story (more or less) about Bo's new cd as he told at the next show. Didn't ask
for any requests, though I did hear people call out Small Dark Movie and Hey
Baby Hey and they both got their wish. Not so for the guy who kept calling for
"Where Do the Wild Geese Go?" - Greg kept laughing and finally said he couldn't
remember it but that he'd learn it for the next time he comes to town. And no
luck either for the guy who shouted "Where's Rexroth's Daughter...Eugene?",
though he did get a chuckle out of Greg.
All in all, an excellent show. Always a treat to watch Greg and Bo together.
