Use the overdrive, not the distortion. The MXR Distortion + is really a
OD, when the distortion knob is turned clockwise it changes the
harmonic tones it adds from even to odd. The DOD 250 is basically a
Distortion + also. The Distortion + will never generate the distortion
or square wave that a BOSS DS-1 will.

I think you don't. Because the one you want is a Distortion and OD is an overdrive which is a different clipping of the wave sound. Try using the distortion...

In association to my previous post. The Distortion + and the DOD 250 are same circuit with minor component differences. ...
