Hey guys
I´ve been attempting to get the METALLICA sound with the GT3 with some success.
What I´ve been doing is using the Metal 1 overdrive (55 gain) and messing around
with the EQ (basically, putting down some bass and mid-low, and cranking up the
highs). I tend to equalize it that way because I play a Les Paul, which is
naturally a low sounding guitar (as opposed to treble sounding guitar). Oh,
there´s some reverb there, as well.
I´ve been seeking that "Sad But True" fat distortion sound and have gotten that
to SOME success. Any hints on making the drive sound FAT and PUNCHY but NOT
MUDDY, as too low saturation often does?
Oh, by the way, I DO KNOW that the BG Lead is a Mesa simulation... however, I
can´t seem to get a fat sound with that...
Maybe I´m just fine and all I need is a valve amp, but maybe not. If somebody
has a hint, I´ll appreciate it bigtime.
Happy 2009,
- Pedro

In association to my previous post. The Distortion + and the DOD 250
are same circuit with minor component differences.
