Input GT-3 into computer

I have read the GT-3 quick FAQ and feel like I am following the
directions to input my guitar via the GT-3 to record into my recording
software. I have a 1/4" adapter and have plugged this into the line-in
on my soundcard, and have selected Line(headphones) for my settings. I
still can't detect any input into my soundcard. Any ideas as to what I
might be missing?
