RE: [G_Dawn] "Rolling Stone" story - Goldman Sachs takeover of USA....

=============
And regarding this whole enviromentalist "Cap and Trade" agenda that Barack
Obama is driving forward, and which has already passed in the House - - the
main point here is not that the greenhouse gasses might be reduced,
lessening the mean average world temperature by 0.5 degrees overall within
ten or twenty years. The main point is that a trillion dollars of wealth
is going to be directed to Wall Street, and Goldman Sachs in particular, in
this new Wall Street driven commodity market based on "carbon credits."

The concern is not really about the environment.

i too am not a fan of cap and trade, i favor a simple carbon tax,, using carbon
fuels costs us beyond the price we pay for it, the extra cost is either passed
on to the government or absorbed in a deteriorating environment, if the use of
carbon based fuels has costs, they should be directly applied to that use,, just
tax the stuff and make the users and profiteers of the stuff pay for that cost,,
but i'm not going to say that those pushing a cap and trade policy are not
really about the environment, they are just accepting that they are working in a
system where money dictates policy, they can either make it more costly to use
fossil fuels to reflect the true cost, or they can ban it, people won't let them
ban it, won't let them turn to more nuke power, hell the country goes into a
hissy fit just when they are told they should be more responsible in using the
stuff, how you going to ban it,, the only option that can pass the veto the
american voters have
on this issue is to do what they are trying to do,, you seem to find a way to
blame multinational financial institutions for this,, do you recognize even a
small bit of responsiblity rests in the actions and demands of the private
citizen, each and everyone of us has the option to use less energy, drive a more
efficient vehicle, turn of lights, dry your clothes on a line, when do the
conspiracy folks ever get up bent out of shape about the irresponsiblity of the
individual
