This is the October 3rd, 2005 edition of Glory2Glory Christian Music E-zine!, a contemporary Christian music and modern Worship newsletter distributed to gospel music enthusiasts around the world.

Please continue to pray for the families and individuals from the Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast areas that have been displaced due to the devastation from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  Also consider donating to “Convoy of Hope”, a Christian disaster relief organization that is delivering semi-truckloads of food, and supplies to these victims in South Louisiana and the southern parts of Mississippi and Alabama.  To donate to Convoy of Hope, click here or copy & paste this URL in your browser’s address field:  www.convoyofhope.com

IN THE NEWS:

<>< In last week’s issue of Rolling Stone, the music industry trade magazine spotlighted CASTING CROWNS’ career in its Top 40 Albums list.  The seven-piece band from Atlanta continues to enjoy chart success on both Billboard and R&R’s Christian AC charts with “Lifesong” retaining the no. 1 position.  Also frontman Mark Hall and Casting Crowns are still celebrating after recently receiving a nomination from the “American Music Awards” set to air on ABC-TV on Tuesday, November 22nd.

<>< KIRK FRANKLIN’s new album releases to store tomorrow (Oct. 4th) but you can hear the entire CD on BET’s website.  “Hero” features several Franklin duets with such diverse artists as TOBYMAC (as in Toby’s album, “Diverse City”), DORINDA CLARK-COLE, FRED HAMMOND, P.O.D.’s Sonny Sandoval, YOLANDA ADAMS, and STEVIE WONDER.  To listen to Franklin’s new project in its entirety, courtesy of BET.com’s “Listen Up Listening Party!”, go to www.kirkfranklin.us/betlistenup.

<>< SWITCHFOOT’s Christian music distributor EMI CMG has issued a recall of the band’s latest album, “Nothing Is Sound.”  Supposedly a “mistake” in the settings for the new controversial content protection technology placed on the CD kept buyers from being able to make even a single copy or import the music into iTunes and other popular music players.  Last week the band’s bass player Tim Foreman posted a message on their website’s message board telling fans how to bypass the restrictions.  After the recall, Foreman's message was removed from the board.  Hmmmmm?

SOUNDBYTES:

And speaking of iTunes, BARLOWGIRL’s latest single “Let Go” is available as a free download from iTunes.com in their "free downloads" area.  Also everyone who purchases BarlowGirl’s new album “Another Journal Entry” from iTunes will receive an exclusive bonus track of the remix of "Never Alone" until October 26th. <><
