This week's Christian music newsletter...

This is the November 7, 2005 edition of Glory2Glory Christian Music E-zine!, a contemporary Christian music and modern Worship newsletter distributed to gospel music enthusiasts around the world.

IN THE NEWS:  NEWSONG will once again be featured in a television movie that airs during Christmas season.  Their new seasonal song “The Christmas Blessing”  is featured in the CBS holiday TV movie of the same name with the Dove Award-winning group actually appearing in the film performing the tune.  Several years ago NewSong’s no. 1 Adult Contemporary pop hit, “The Christmas Shoes,” inspired a New York Times best-seller and a highly rated television movie, which also aired on CBS and attracted nearly 17 million viewers.  “The Christmas Blessing” movie is the sequel to 2002’s “The Christmas Shoes”  and will be broadcast as a CBS Sunday Night Movie on December 18th at 8:00 PM CST.  The new film stars Neil Patrick Harris ("How I Met Your Mother") and Rebecca Gayheart ("Urban Legend") with a special appearance by Rob Lowe (“West Wing”) who starred in the first teleflick.  According to a CBS press release, “The Christmas Blessing”  is a “heartwarming holiday drama” where “the young boy from the original film has grown up and meets a young woman and a boy who both, with the help of a Christmas miracle, change his life.”

The Integrity Music Group is planning a limited release of the song this year and then will include it on a NewSong CD which is set to be released for Christmas 2006.  Also the band will headline a 16-city Christmas tour next month with special guests ANOITED and new artist ANA LAURA..  For more info, visit newsongonline.com. <><

As we first reported in last week’s Glory2Glory E-zine!, DAVID CROWDER*BAND’s pastor was electrocuted at University Baptist Church in Waco, Texas while grabbing a corded microphone during a water baptism service.  Thousands gathered last Tuesday (Nov. 1) at First Baptist Church of Waco to attend the funeral of Rev. Kyle Lake.  In an eulogy at the service, University Baptist Church worship leader David Crowder described Pastor Lake as a person who “lived a life that blurred the line between Heaven and Earth."  The 33-year-old author and minister leaves behind his wife, Jennifer, their five-year-old daughter and three-year-old twin sons. <><

THE AFTERS are recent winners in the 2005 mtvU Awards.  “Beautiful Love” was voted as best “Streaming Video” by college students on mtvU.com, beating out such mainstream artists as Alicia Keys, Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance and Aesop Rock.  mtvU is broadcast to more than 700 college campuses across the nation and reaches over 6 million students.  The live taping of the awards show will air on mtvU and mtvU.com this Wednesday (November 9th.) <><
