A founding member of BURLOP TO CASHMERE was nearly beaten to death by an off-duty airport security agent during a
Brooklyn, New York road-rage confrontation. 27-year-old Johnny Philippidis is in a medically-induced coma at Lutheran Medical Center after a federal Transportation Security Administration agent hit the musician several times and then sped away. Doctors induced the coma to relieve pressure on Philippidis’ brain caused by a broken nose and fractures to his jaw and eye socket .
According to Philippidis’ stepfather, Bill Eisenhardt, "He was beaten and left for dead." It's a shame to be attacked over something as minor as a fender-bender." The contemporary Christian music artist was attacked shortly after leaving a Manhattan studio where he had been recording a new album. After Philippidis’ and the Kennedy Airport security agent’s autos collided, both men got out of their vehicles and allegedly exchanged heated words. <><
Tooth & Nail Recordings band HAWK NELSON attended the premiere of the new movie “Yours, Mine & Ours” last weekend in Los Angeles.
