A nationwide two-month talent search for Christian music’s newest star wraps up this month. “Gifted” is a collaboration between Wright Entertainment’s Johnny Wright, manager of Britney Spears, *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and Justin Timberlake, and Matthew Crouch, founder of independent
film company Gener8Xion Entertainment and the son of the creators of Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). The new Wright Gener8Xion Entertainment agency conducted a series of local competitions earlier this year at “mega-churches” in cities including Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, Hollywood and St. Paul, Minnesota where contest participants performed a cappella versions of classic hymns. Gifted’s grand prize winner will receive a major-label recording contract, career management by the Wright Entertainment Group and day-to-day support from Wright Gener8Xion Entertainment. Also a $10,000 donation will be made to the church where the winner originally auditioned. TBN will televise the finale in March with Christian solo artist and Backstreet Boy BRIAN LITTRELL hosting the special.
