The GMA Music Awards have confirmed performers for the 37th annual event scheduled for April 5th at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. The awards program will showcase 16 Dove-nominated artists who will perform their gospel, pop, rock and modern worship songs. Nominees and performers include CHRIS TOMLIN, KUTLESS, REBECCA ST. JAMES, ISRAEL & NEW BREED, THIRD DAY, BARLOWGIRL, KIRK FRANKLIN, MARTHA MUNIZZI, NATALIE GRANT and THE BROOKLYN TABERNACLE CHOIR. Also a special acoustic set will include JEREMY CAMP, DAVID CROWDER, CASTING CROWNS’ Mark Hall and THIRD DAY’s Mac Powell. <><
Singer/songwriter WARREN BARFIELD has signed with Nashville-based booking agency Third Coast Artists Agency. Barfield joins TCAA’s roster that includes Christian music heavyweights MERCYME, JEREMY CAMP, NICHOLE NORDEMAN and DAVID CROWDER*BAND. According to Mike Snider, president and owner of Third Coast, “We are extremely excited for Warren Barfield to join the (TCAA) team. Warren is a special guy
and we are thrilled to be a part of his career.” Barfield is currently on tour with SHAWN MCDONALD in support of his recent sophomore album “Reach” and was one of the most successful breakout acts in 2003, with two top ten singles, “My Heart Goes Out” and “Mistaken.” <><
TODD AGNEW’s “Isaiah 6”, from his current project “Reflection of Something”, has been voted “Best Scripture Song” by “Worship Leader” magazine’s 2005
“Worship Leader Praise Awards.” Voted on by pastors and worship leaders from around the nation, the trade magazine will list all of their annual winners in their March/April issue. <><
