This is the October 30, 2006 edition of Glory2Glory Christian Music E-zine!, a contemporary Christian music and modern Worship newsletter distributed to gospel music enthusiasts around the world.
VERSE OF THE
WEEK:
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” – 1 Timothy 4:1
SOUNDBYTES:
Worship artist CHRIS TOMLIN will re-issue his first two studio projects combined in a two-disc set on November 21. The Early Years will feature all of the cuts from Tomlin’s 2001 debut, The Noise We Make, and his sophomore album, Not To Us, including such modern worship standards as “Forever,” “The Wonderful Cross,” “Famous One” and “Enough.” <>< With their final concert appearance nearing, AUDIO ADRENALINE is already auctioning off some of their gear on eBay to benefit Rocketown, a Christian teen club located in Nashville. On Tuesday (Oct. 31) drummer Ben Cissell will be putting up for bids his “Champagne Sparkle” Risen drum kit used during summer festivals and on TOBYMAC’s “Diverse City Worldwide Tour” in 2004-2005. <>< An album cut from KRYSTAL MEYERS has been tapped to help promote a new drama on NBC-TV. "Together" from Meyers' current project, Dying For A Heart, is being used on television and radio spots for NBC’s "Heroes," set to air Monday nights at 8:00 PM (CST). <>< Legendary guitarist PHIL KEAGGY will release Dream
Again, his first new vocal project of originals in six years, on January 30, 2007. Keaggy has stayed busy this past year, releasing two instrumental albums, JAMMED! and Roundabout. <>< Some appalling news has surfaced concerning a former gospel singer and American Idol favorite. In a radio interview on SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s “OutQ in the Morning," RJ HELTON announced that he is gay. The 25-year-old singer was a top 5 finalist in the first season of the popular FOX-TV show and went on to record a successful gospel album in 2004. <>< LEIGH NASH has recorded a new Christmas EP that will only be available in
digital format through online vendors. SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER’s former lead singer will release Wishing For This on November 14 that includes such holiday classics and favorites as "O Holy Night," "Eternal Gifts," "Baby It's Cold Outside" and Dolly Parton’s "Hard Candy Christmas." <>< Legendary R&B singer Patti LaBelle will release her first gospel album, The Gospel According to Patti LaBelle, on November 21. LaBelle is also embarking on a 14-city “mega-church” tour, hitting major markets including New York, Philadelphia and Detroit. <><
