SOUNDBYTES: SWITCHFOOT is taping a performance for the Carson Daly Show on August 27th. with the air date for the show to be announced later. <>< Mark Miller of the Country super-group Sawyer Brown has now officially named his new Christian music label distributed by Reunion Records and the Provident Group. "Beach Street Records" will release the debut album from CASTING CROWNS on September 30th, co-produced by Miller and STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN. <>< Vineyard Music and Sparrow Records will unite to release an album on September 16th. with some classic and new Vineyard worship songs. "Wash Over Me" will feature worship leaders DAVID RUIS and CHRIS JANZEN and is produced by Ruis and former SONICFLOOd member Jason Halbert. The project was recorded live at the Industrial Revolution youth conference in Toronto, Canada. <>< DAVID CROWDER BAND fans have the distinction of naming one of the band's concert faves. Crowder asked visitors to the band's website to vote for one of four names for one of their songs and "O Praise Him (All This for a King)" won out. The tune will be released as the first single from their new CD, "Illuminate", set to hit store shelves on September 16th. By the way, other song titles included "He is Holy" and "Boot Scoot Boogie #2." <>< THE KATINAS have a new addition to their already large family. "River E. James" was born last week (Aug. 2nd.) in Nashville to John and Sharee Katina. The baby's father and uncles (Sam, Joe, James, and Jesse) are releasing "Roots" on October 7th., which is album number three from The Katinas. <>< Glory2Glory subscriber Bruce Parker e-mailed this week to inquire about Christian reggae band CHRISTAFARI. The band recently returned to the radio charts after a long four-year absence with their new project "Gravity" that debuted at #10 on Billboard Magazine's Top Reggae Albums Chart. <>< New singer/songwriter JILL PAQUETTE also e-mailed last week to let readers know how to correctly pronounce her name. "Puh-ket" is the preferred pronunciation for the Canadian artist whose first single, "Lift My Eyes," from her self-titled debut album is already Top 30 on Christian AC and CHR charts. <><
