Passion Conferences will launch "Experience Tour 2003" this fall with concerts already set for 31 major markets. These "worship experiences" will feature CHRIS TOMLIN, DAVID CROWDER BAND, and CHARLIE HALL with music from the "Passion" albums (that have sold nearly one million units) and songs from each worship leader's solo projects. According to Passion founder Louie Giglio, "We are looking forward to worshipping with the thousands of people all across the nation who will be joining us in making His renown known." The tour is scheduled to kick off in Phoenix, AZ on September 28th. and travel to Sacramento, CA; Seattle, WA; Austin, Dallas, and Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; Lynchburg, VA; and Nashville, TN before wrapping up in Lakeland, FL on November 14th. <><
STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN and his wife Mary Beth have joined FamilyLife's "Rekindling The Romance" marriage conferences scheduled throughout the U.S. this fall. The couple will share stories about their marriage and Steven will perform some of his most famous love songs, including the artist's breakthrough crossover hit, "How Do I Love Her," which is now Top 20 on several general market Adult Contemporary charts. "To have Mary Beth do this with me is a first and what makes this so unique," Chapman said in a press release. He added, "If we can encourage even one marriage to fight the good fight and keep showing up, that is why we are doing this, together." <><
SMALLTOWN POETS has signed with BEC Recordings and are working on a new album with drummer Matt Goldman engineering and producing. The band's line-up now includes lead singer Michael Johnston, bassist Alex Peterson, and guitarist Troy Stains. The Poets are returning to full-time touring after recently taking time off for a wedding and two new births. <><
SOUNDBYTES: JONATHAN PIERCE recently sang the National Anthem at a Tennessee Titan's pre-season football game in Nashville's Adelphia Coliseum. Pierce's latest album, "For You," releases on Sept.23rd. <>< AMY GRANT will guest on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" this Thursday, Sept. 4th. Grant's new CD, "Simple Things," recently shipped no. 1 on several Christian and General Market Retail charts. <>< SWITCHFOOT will perform their crossover hit "Meant To Live" from their latest album, "The Beautiful Letdown," on NBC's "Carson Daly's Late Night Show" on Wednesday, September 10th. <>< The Fox News Channel recently aired a segment on American heroes that featured MICHAEL TAIT (DCTALK, TAIT) singing "I Am" from "!HERO - The Rock Opera." The piece received so much positive response that the Fox News Weekend Magazine re-aired the segment this past weekend. <><
