IN THE NEWS--
Delirious? is offering fans a free download of their new song "Majesty (Here I Am)" beginning on October 1st.   Also on the band's website, visitors can download the "single" artwork and music tablature and plans on offering a different MP3 on November 1st.-all for free!  You can link to the freebies at www.delirious.co.uk or directly at  www.artists.mp3s.com/artists/284/delirious1. <><

The latest (and supposedly last) entry in the City on a Hill series, "The Gathering," hit store shelves last week.  Essential Records is asking album purchasers to donate $10 or more to Convoy of Hope, a nonprofit organization that provides disaster relief and sponsors outreaches to the poor with free groceries and job and health fairs.  In return, everyone donating will receive a free copy of "Our God of Wonders."  Proceeds from this promotions are earmarked to support missions in New York City, Washington, DC, and Ft. Worth, Texas. <><

Praise TV that is seen on hundreds of cable and satellite channels around the country has ceased operations.  The Christian Network, Inc., which operates Praise TV, announced that it will concentrate on their two other entities, The Worship Network and ETCtv ("Entertainment That Counts TV.")  According to Tim Brown, VP of Programming, "America's appetite for Worship music and purpose-driven content has grown tremendously over the past two years.  As a network we feel as though our focus must be on the opportunities God has provided.  While Praise TV has been successful in so many ways over the years, we know that Worship and ETC deserve our undivided attention and support."

The Worship Network and ETCtv are distributed in nearly 80 million homes, including 19 million over-the-air homes, and on over 60 PAX-TV owned and operated television stations, which reach all Top 20 Nielsen TV markets.  Also Worship is aired throughout the television day on 140 independent U.S. stations and in over 50 countries.  ETCtv airs Friday and Saturday nights on the PAX O & O stations featuring "cutting edge music and original weekly series" including "Verity Live," "Keep the Faith Top 7 Countdown," and "God Will Make a Way." <><

Carman is getting ready for his "House of Praise" Tour starting in October that stops in over 30 cities in Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Kentucky, and several other states.  The concerts to promote his latest album, "House of Praise" on Cross Driven Records, will focus on smaller theatres and churches in contrast to the bigger venues on his last tour which drew more that one million concertgoers.  Carman explained, "I really miss the personal touch of the theater concerts we used to do years ago.  I had more time to talk to the audience from the stage, sign autographs, and loved having a segment to field questions from the audience."  <><

Many of us have probably owned a Hallmark Christmas album at sometime (I still have a vinyl 12" from 1986!)  For 2003, Hallmark stores will offer the music of Steven Curtis Chapman on its traditional holiday CD entitled "Christmas Is All in the Heart," featuring original and traditional Christmas songs rerecorded specifically for this collection.  The CD will be available exclusively for $7.95 at Hallmark outlets nationwide starting in November with new recordings of three original songs, "This Baby," "Going Home for Christmas," and "Christmas Is All in the Heart." It also features Chapman's renditions of traditional holiday songs including "Silver Bells," "O Little Town of Bethlehem," "Winter Wonderland," "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," and "O Come All Ye Faithful."

Also the whole Chapman family will be featured on The Hallmark Channel's original series called "Adoption."  The episode tells how Steven and Mary-Beth adopted a second child from China earlier this year and will air Sunday, November 2nd. at 10:00 PM CDT. <><

Sanctus Real has recorded a cover of U2's "Beautiful Day" that will be featured on an upcoming benefit album that hopes to help raise awareness about the AIDS crisis in Africa.  "In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa" also includes U2 cover songs by Sixpence None The Richer, Pillar, and Delirious?  A portion of the proceeds from the project goes to DATA to help with the crisis in Africa and to The Awake Project, a Nashville-based organization that provides facts and resources to churches about the African AIDS emergency. <><

John Tesh, whose Praise & Worship projects "A Deeper Faith" and "A Deeper Faith 2" have sold millions in stores and in television commercials, stars in a nationally telecast Public Broadcasting System Special beginning on Thanksgiving Day and airing through December.  "Christmas In Positano" was filmed on the Amalfi Coast of Italy and features a lush mix of Christmas classics performed by Tesh's band and the Italian Symphony Orchestra.  The PBS special was taped live in beautiful outdoor settings in villages and historic cathedrals along the Italian coastline, including the Harbor in Positano, the Cathedral in Amalfi, the main square in Ravello, and the cliffs overlooking Sorrento. <><

Chuck's Chuckles:
A Dozen Points To Ponder--
---Would the ocean be deeper if sponges didn't live there?
---If a cow laughed, would milk come out her nose?
---Whatever happened to Preparations A through G?
---After eating, do amphibians need to wait an hour before getting OUT of the water?
---If you're sending someone some Styrofoam, what do you pack it in?
---Since light travels faster than sound, isn't that why some people appear bright until you hear them speak?
---How come "abbreviated" is such a long word?
---Why are they called "buildings" when they're already finished (shouldn't they be called "builts"?)
---Why are they called "APARTments", when they're all stuck together?
---Why do banks charge you a "non-sufficient funds" fee on money they already know you don't have?
---If you got into a taxi and the driver started driving backward, would the taxi driver end up owing you money?
---Do fish get cramps after eating?
