In some Good News this week,; !HERO, SALVADOR, SMALLTOWN POETS, DELIRIOUS?, SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER; artist birthdays; upcoming concerts and album releases; Chuck's Chuckles; and much more!

IN THE NEWS--
The recent sold-out World Premier of the !Hero - The Rock Opera Tour in Wabash, Indiana was marred by threatened protests.  The production, which features Michael Tait (TAIT, dcTALK), REBECCA ST. JAMES, and Mark Stuart (AUDIO ADRENALINE), opened without incident in Wabash even though the tour's management was advised of possible demonstrations.  Many local citizens were supposedly upset because of Michael Tait, who is an African American, performing in the title role of "!Hero", the play's Jesus character.  A group of city and county police officers were stationed both inside and outside the venue in case of any problems.

According to creator Eddie DeGarmo (DEGARMO & KEY), the audience's reaction was well worth the time it took to conceive the rock opera.  "After ten years (of) planning, writing, and developing !Hero, watching it take life in Wabash was overwhelming."  DeGarmo added, "People wept at the scene of the crucifixion, and they screamed praises when !Hero is seen alive.  It was quite emotional, not only for the audience, but for me.  The people were talking-about Jesus.  That was my dream." <><

SALVADOR 's Latin hit "Corazon De Horo (Heart of Gold)" from the band's first all-Spanish album, "Con Poder", can be heard in the new movie "Billabong Odyssey" which hits theaters nationwide November 7th.  The independent film is about the "dramatic life-or-death adventures of a team of renowned surfers/explorers who search the seven seas on the quest to find and ride the biggest wave on the planet."  For more information, visit
www.billabongodyssey.com and www.salvadorlive.com. <><

It's been six years since SMALLTOWN POETS' self-titled debut release in 1997.  Now the Georgia-based band is laying down tracks for their BEC Recordings debut in early 2004.  The Poets' previous three albums have collectively sold over 250,000 copies and produced ten Top 10 singles with the band receiving nominations for two Grammy Awards and seven Dove Awards.

Frontman Michael Johnston says of the Poets' upcoming project with BEC, "Our goal is to connect with more people and feed the souls of music lovers with good songs.  We look forward to our songs going places they have never been before." <><

The latest studio album from DELIRIOUS? will be released next February in "the States", but fans can pre-order the British edition in time for Christmas delivery on December 15th.  According to the band's website, the regularly-packaged version of "World Service" is just £10 ($16.72), but you can "chuck (Delirious?) another couple of quid and (they'll) ship you the limited edition special packaging version (that'll be £12 [or approximately $20] if your math is dodgy)."  Also the first 250 pre-orders for either the regular or the special packaging versions will be numbered and signed by the band.  Visit
www.delirious.co.uk for more info on ordering. <><

SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER's lead singer Leigh Nash is expecting a baby around January 10th. of next year.  This is the first child for Leigh and her husband Mark (formerly of the band PFR).  The happy mommy-to-be has nicknamed the baby "Mr. Baby" (original, huh?) and reports on the band's website that she is excited about her pregnancy:  "I'm so very much in love with him already…It's driving me nuts that he's so close and I can't see him.  I can wake him or put him to sleep with certain songs I sing to him." <><

SOUNDBYTES:  VINEYARD will release their lasted CD with 15 new modern worship songs on November 18th.  "Dwell" was recorded live at the Vineyard Church in Cincinnati, Ohio in front of over 1,500 worshipers.  The album will ship to stores combined with a DVD featuring live concert videos and song tutorials. <>< The latest CD from P.O.D., "Payable On Death", hit store shelves last week.  To listen to the ENTIRE album online, you can access the MTV website:  www.mtv.com/music/the_leak/p_o_d/payable_on_death/ now! <>< MIZZIE, one of the four members of RAZE before the act's unfortunate demise a couple of years ago, is now performing solo on the Festival Con Dios tour with NEWSBOYS.  Mizzie is also working in the studio on her first solo project set for release in March 2004. <><
