IN THE NEWS:
In a letter to readers of CCM Magazine, Leigh Nash and Matt Slocum of SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER announced they are disbanding the Dove Award and Grammy-winning band. Their record label will put out one last project of unreleased material recorded during their studio time for their latest album, “Divine Discontent,” but was never used. <><

The 24-year-old Velasquez, who will serve as CEO of the label, has named her mother as Apostrophe's CFO and her brother as vice-president of A&R. Velasquez says she will continue to record her Christian music projects with Word Records but will leave Sony Discos and negotiate a new Latin music deal with an unnamed label. <><

The SUPERTONES were scheduled to release their new album called “Birth of a Nation” on June 15th. but the title has hit a snag. According to the band’s Ethan Luck, "We thought it would be cool to call the record ‘Birth of a Nation’, you know, like the first movie ever made? Well, we did some research on the movie and found out that it has ALOT to do with the KKK. So it looks as though we are going to change it.” No word yet on the new title. <><
