IN THE NEWS:
MERCY ME, JEREMY CAMP, SWITCHFOOT, and STACIE ORRICO were just some of the winners at last week’s Gospel Music Association's 35th. Annual Music Awards. Gospel music's “biggest night of the year” was hosted live by YOLANDA ADAMS and Deion Sanders in front of a sold-out house at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. The Dove Awards will be broadcast on UPN on May 28th. at 7:00 PM CDT. For a complete list of winners, click on http://www.doveawards.com <><
THE LOST DOGS are in the studio working on a new project and are planning a “mini” tour from June 28 through July 10, including an appearance at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois. Derri Daugherty, Michael Roe, Terry Taylor, and special guest Steve Hindalong (“City On A Hill” projects producer) will travel this summer as a four-piece band. The legendary musicians will perform “fresh arrangements” of popular songs from each of their respective groups--77'S, DANIEL AMOS, THE CHOIR, and ADAM AGAIN (the band founded by the late Gene Eugene, a former member of The Lost Dogs.) <><
SOUNDBYTES:
MERCYME’s new release Undone has entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #12. The album has sold almost 60,000 units in its first week and has already produced a hit single, "Here With Me," which climbs to #23 this week on the mainstream Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. <>< Over 10,000 people have already signed an open letter to director Mel Gibson asking him to make his next movie on St. Francis of Assisi. The writers of the letter are members of the Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal and the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal. <>< Former members of the defunct eclectic band EARTHSUIT have formed not one, but two new bands--MUTEMATH is led by keyboardist Paul Meany with their debut album due out on August 24th. Also lead singer Adam LaClave has put together MACROSICK with an EP which is only available online at

CHUCK’S CHUCKLES:
(This week’s list was submitted by my wife, Teresa, who is a self-professed “Chocoholic.”—C.H.)
Top 10 Rules of Chocolate--
10. If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.
9. Raisins, cherries, orange slices, or strawberries covered in chocolate all count as fruit, so eat as much as you want.
8. Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal (it'll take the edge off your
appetite and you'll eat less!)
7. Eating a small box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories at one sitting, saving you time and money.
6. If you can't eat your whole box of chocolates, it will keep in the freezer (but if you can't eat all of your chocolates, what's wrong with you, anyway?)
5. Eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate for a balanced diet (they will actually counteract the calories in each other.)
4. If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge (calories are known to be afraid of heights, so they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.
3. Chocolate has many preservatives which helps you keep your young looks.
2. There no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous because no one wants to quit.
1. Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today and at least you'll get one thing accomplished!
