IN THE NEWS:

AUDIO ADRENALINE will be featured in a new reality program this fall on the new Christian youth television network, JCTV, which is a part of Trinity Broadcasting Network's “Family of Networks.”  Running on Adrenaline will attempt to show viewers what it is like to “hit the road with a successful rock band” and promises to “whisk viewers behind the scenes and take them up-close and personal with the platinum-selling, Grammy-winning rock band Audio Adrenaline.”  "Participants" are thrown into the front row of the band’s cross-country touring bus as the guys joke around and “ponder the big questions of life.” 

The show’s producers promise viewers will become the "fifth member" of the band along with lead vocalist Mark Stuart, bassist Will McGinnis, drummer Ben Cissell, and guitarist Tyler Burkum.  According to Cissell, "This is real life.  It's as real as it gets.  We have fights and arguments.  We are not perfect!  People are shocked that we're letting this stuff get out there.  People are really curious because it shows you what really goes on with a band on the road."

Running on Adrenaline premieres Tuesday (September 7th.) at 9:00 PM CDT and airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 PM with repeat showings on Saturdays at 8:00 PM.  To see if JCTV broadcasts in your area, go to  www.getjctv.com. <><

Promoters of the AtlantaFest summer music festival are sponsoring “Flags All Night” on Friday, September 17th. from Midnight to 7:00 AM at Six Flags Over Georgia.  The event has been attended by over 600 church youth groups and their guests in its short history and is now billed as “the most explosive night of evangelism for teenagers in the southeast.”  Used to reach out to teens who may not attend church but will go to an amusement park, “Flags All Night” costs $35 which includes admission to all adult rides all night long, 16 Christian music concerts including performances by RJ HELTON and BROTHER’S KEEPER, and an all you-can-eat meal! 

According to one pastor who has participated with his church’s youth in the past, "My youth group has grown from 17 to 76 kids per week over the past three years because of ‘Flags All Night.’  My kids (are) part of the evangelism process…we never miss this event.”  Tickets can be purchased by calling 770-638-5220 or going online to www.atlantayfc.org. <><

The latest release in the WOW Worship compilation series, WOW Worship Red, has become Europe’s best-selling Christian CD and DVD of 2004.  The project, which was released last March, also has seen extensive sales in South Africa, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.  A Top 10 mainstream hit in South Africa, WOW Worship Red is also the #1 selling title in the country’s Christian music market this summer.  In Singapore, the CD has surpassed Gold-selling status and achieved the #1 spot on the Recording Industry Association-Singapore (RIAS) sales charts, even outselling albums from such mainstream artists as Avril Lavigne.  Also in Australia and New Zealand, WOW Worship Red is one of the best-selling Christian music projects ever released in those countries.

The two-CD set contains over thirty modern Worship songs performed by some of today's top Christian artists including AMY GRANT, JACI VELASQUEZ, MICHAEL W. SMITH, STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, MARK SCHULTZ, THIRD DAY, CASTING CROWNS, REBECCA ST. JAMES, and JARS OF CLAY.  Over fourteen million double CDs of the WOW series have been sold over the last nine years, making it one of the most successful projects ever in the history of Christian music. <><

The new Gospel Music Channel has inked a deal with Cox Communications and will be carried on cable in more than two million homes when the channel goes on the air October 30th.  GMC describes itself as "the first television network of its kind dedicated to all forms of the gospel music genre" with its mission “to be the preeminent provider of gospel music entertainment to the large audience of passionate and diverse consumers across America and around the world…to entertain, inspire, and uplift."  The music channel is based in Atlanta and is headed up by president and CEO Charles Humbard, former senior vice president of Discovery Networks, and vice chairman Brad Siegel, former president of Turner Entertainment Networks.  According to a press release, the network's program schedule will feature music video blocks, artists’ biographies, music specials, and live concerts targeted towards all age groups. 

Also a second Christian video music channel based in Charlotte, North Carolina will premiere sometime before Christmas.  The MP (standing for "Music Positive") will feature “entertainment-driven programming that empowers people to bring about positive change in their lives," according to a network press release.  The new company is led by Larry Moore, the former CEO of a broadband engineering equipment manufacturer, and Mike Mason, who has more than 20 years of television experience with TechTV (now G4TechTV), ACN TV (better known as Jewelry Television), The Disney Channel, ABC Cable Networks, and Home Box Office. 

In addition, The MP Network will publish a print companion to The MP, a monthly Christian music and entertainment magazine called MPZ; promote “The MP Tour”, two national multi-city concert tours scheduled for 2005; and launch a website next month (www.TheMPNetwork.com) that promises to “offer streaming video, artist information, original programming, and other special features.” <><
