IN THE NEWS: The Integrity Music Group recently donated nearly $150,000 to Food For The Poor to help build 72 new homes in Jamaica. Proceeds came from Integrity’s 2nd. Annual Charity Golf Tournament and the recent iWORSHIP™ Tour in October featuring worship leaders/artists DON MOEN, SARA GROVES, PAUL BALOCHE, ROBIN MARK, and LENNY LEBLANC. Moen, a Food For The Poor spokesman, presented a video prior to each concert’s intermission and shared his personal experiences in Jamaica. <><
THE O.C. SUPERTONES have decided to call it quits in 2005 after ten years together and seven albums. The Christian ska band’s website reports “there were several reasons that factored into (the) decision” and “after much discussion and lots of prayer,” 2005 will be the group’s “last year together.” The Supertones plan to release a greatest hits album (Unite) and conduct a national tour, as well as select concerts overseas. Frontman and founder Matt Morginsky says the breakup will be difficult: “It’s…sad to say goodbye to something you have been a part of since you were 15. I hope that this band leaves behind more than what numbers can indicate. Our goal was and still is to glorify God and to edify His people.” During its’ decade-long career, the band has sold more than one million CDs, played almost 20 concert tours, was featured on MTV and CNN, and appeared on the cover of national touring magazine Pollstar.
