Glory2Glory reported last year about the controversy surrounding one-time Christian music band EVANESCENCE when the band’s label pulled all their product from Christian retailers after an interview laced with profanities was published. Now Wind-Up Records, Sony BMG (the label’s distributor), and retail giant Wal-Mart are being sued over the group’s recently released CD/DVD combo, Anywhere But Home. The lawsuit contends the record label failed to place a “Parental Advisory” sticker on the album's packaging even though the band’s cover of Korn's "Thoughtless" included several “f-words” in its lyrics. Parents of a young customer who bought the album filed the complaint that seeks the removal of the product from Wal-Mart’s shelves and almost $75,000 in punitive damages. <><
SOUNDBYTES: Bassist Pete Eekhoff of JONAH 33 has officially departed. Eekhoff, one of the founding members of the band, reportedly has left to “concentrate on starting a family and a booking agency”. <>< JACI VELASQUEZ’ A'postrophe Records is giving away free song downloads from the new label's artists MICHAEL COOK and GRAND PRIZE. Cook’s "Lately", from his debut project, Imprint, and "It's Not Over", from Grand Prize's upcoming Identity album, can be downloaded for free from apostropherecords.com. <>< eb+flo Records is offering free yuletide downloads by CHRIS RICE, DEREK WEBB, PHIL KEAGGY, and several mainstream artists.
