This is my personal opinion, although it's right to the point, it's
not my intention to offend anyone. Criticizing an opinion is not
necessarily interpreted as a shut down, but merely an objective
criticism. Please be specific in expressing your opinion, and not to
stereotype the entire culture or nationality, (i.e. Iranian are …) as
we know there are many different type of people in a given society
and race.

In our society, mostly in last two decades..

Women are not allow to sing
Displaying of musical instrument is prohibited on television
There has not any new auditorium built
The name Roodaki, which is one of our great musician has been
eliminated from our only auditorium
There has been many limitation set forth for the artist
Interview with Shajarian, and letters drafted by Eftekhari and
Mokhtabaad have proven that there are highly limited in their ability
to perform.
There are limitation put in place for movie theater, painting, book
and press.
Lack of government amenities such as welfare for artist
With these conditions listed above, the dynamics of criticism are
effected, and should differ from free-world criticism.

When must pay attention to the condition is which the art has been
developed and not the artist. This is like playing the flute from the
other end.

If one is embarrassed by performance of a county-man artist in front
of foreign audience, it is lack of self confidence on his part, while
the foreign audience has enjoyed the performance by applauding.

Improvisation is an important part of Iranian music along with Radif
(a derivative of western performance).

The ancient Iranian music was influenced by time of day, week, month,
season and the condition of performer and listener which is referred
to as Maqam.

The performer(Khonyagar) had the ability to sing, play, write lyrics
and music.

Pay attention to quote from Schopenhauer:

"Inspired music comes suddenly from unconsciousness and expressed in
forms of music. As music utilizes scientific tools and calculation,
it is distant from the art. Unfortunately, today making music and
putting notes together, has diminished the value from art to
technique. So, one can learn it and apply it easily"

Art criticism in the west is part of the business and criticizer
works for the media to gain profit, although there are exceptions.
Art is not derived from critics, but derived and inspired from
freedom within and don't pay attention to other advices and critics.
