As a new subscriber I've been asked to post a first message naming my favourite ISB song and record.
Well, the record is easy, it has to be "Wee Tam and the Big Huge". The song is a little more difficult as it varies from day to day, but, "First Girl I Loved", "The Circle is Unbroken", "Darling Belle" and "All Writ Down" come to mind at This Moment, but as each moment is different.....
As I said above I'm new to the group and I don't have time to read through 5000-odd messages, so if I bring up topics already well covered, be patient with me.
One topic I'm keen to pursue is 'lost songs', i.e. songs written by the band that didn't make it onto record. With the release of "The Chelsea Sessions" and the 2 live BBC albums, some have finally seen the light of day. "Fine Fingered Hand" and "Ring Dance" have appeared on Robin's "Ring Dance" album, but I would like to hear ISB versions. These two songs were, incidentally, both broadcast by the BBC so perhaps recordings still exist.
Other songs that come immediately to mind are "Won't You Come See Me", "Gather Round", "El Ratto" (from "U"), "Joe's Waltz",and "Living in the Shadow" all by Robin, "Secret Garden" by Likky and the full (15 mintute?) version of Mike's "Painted Chariot". There are others, but as I can't find my old ISB scrapbook at present, I can't bring them to mind.
Greetings all, As a new subscriber I've been asked to post a first message naming my favourite ISB song and record. Well, the record is easy, it has to be "Wee...
