Hi Chris,

I am unfamiliar with the TLH format.
So far the torrents were in the FLAC format.

Am I missing something ?

Cheers

The line:

SBD > Toshiba Ext Sound card > Audacity > CDwav > TLH

Describes the source and method of producing the files for downloading.

So, SBD means it's a soundboard recording, which was captured via a Toshiba
sound card. The characteristics of the sound (volume, channel balance, etc)
were controlled via a program called Audacity and turned into WAV files
(audio files) via another program called CDwav, and then encoded to FLAC via
TLH, which stands for Traders Little Helper - http://tlh.easytree.org. TLH
can also be used to decompress the FLAC files back to WAV. TLH is a reliable
and neat little bit of software, and very useful too.

If the recording had been an audience recording rather than a soundboard,
then the "source" line might have been along the lines of:

AUD > schoepsMK4 > reutelhuber power supply > denonDTR80p > Toshiba sound
card > Audacity > CDwav > TLH. 1st row balcony, aisle seats left of the SBD

This means that the recording was an audience recording captured using
Schoeps MK4 stereo microphones using a Reutelhuber power supply (don't
really know the significance of this, but it's probably something to do with
boosting the signal via a pre-amplifier) into a Denon DTR 80 portable DAT
recorder, and from there to a PC where the encoding to FLAC would be carried
out as in the previous example. The taper has also specified their position
so that listeners can get a better idea of the sound.

HTH (hope that helps).

Meanwhile, can anyone tell me what ditty wah ditty means?

Hi Chris, Nenuphar, etc.,

If someone wants to plant a tree, I'll start the US branch. I'm not home for a few weeks so if it's efficiency you're looking for, I'm not your gal. I hope Pete in Tazmania sees this. I haven't forgotten you ,Pete, I'm cleaning 90 years of stuff out of mom's basement!

If anyone in London has the balls to kiss Mike for me, that would be great!

Wow Mon! You reminded me I'll see Robin again at Farnleigh House in
Dublin next week,
a very nice venue. A stories gig, but I do enjoy those a lot.

Come over here soon.

Well I didn't kiss him, Mon, but I had a little chat with him on Friday 10th
July while I was paying him for the gig he played for us. And I got him to
sign all my LP covers and CD inserts.
