Live365 has introduced the beta version of their new Internet radio
application Radio365:

The beta has only been out for a week or so and there's no doubt it
needs some work, but I suspect once all the bugs are worked out this
is going to be a great way to tune in to Live365 stations. For one
thing, the app has an mp3PRO decoder built-in, so listeners will have
an alternative to purchasing the month-to-month VIP Preferred
Memberships Live365 has been offering in order to hear the near-CD
quality sound of their mp3PRO stations. Rather than forking over
$3.65 a month, listeners can now purchase Radio365 for a one-time fee
of $14.95 and still access the mp3PRO-enhanced sound. Whoohoo!
An additional benefit to using this player is the fact that it is a
stand-alone app, independent of a browser. You'll no longer need to
fire up a sluggish browser and deal with a slew of pop-up ads in order
to tune in to your favorite 'net radio stations. Just fire up
Radio365, run a quick search using the player's built-in search engine
or select one of your presets, and you're listening to Internet radio.
Of course, you're limited to Live365 stations, which is something to
consider, but if you listen to a variety of stations on the web
already, why not listen to in the best possible audio quality? For
Live365 stations, that would be with this player (or with a Live364
Preferred Membership). For RealAudio stations you'd probably be best
served with a Real player. For Ogg stations...well, you get the picture.
By the way, you can use the player for 35 hours for free, then you'll
have to fork over the $14.95 to continue using it. You don't need to
provide your credit card or anything to try it, so here's the link to
download the player:

A Mac version is available at

(I'm not even sure the Mac version costs anything at all to keep after
the free trial period.)
