Billboard Bits: KCRW, Oasis, Rock Boat
Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, Flaming Lips, Interpol and Franz
Ferdinand are among the 13 artists represented on the
compilation "KCRW Sounds Eclectic 3," due Jan. 11 via Palm. All
tracks were recorded on the Los Angeles-area station's celebrated
radio show "Morning Becomes Eclectic," hosted by Nic Harcourt.
Radiohead turns in an acoustic version of "Go To Sleep," while Iron &
Wine covers the Flaming Lips' "Waiting for a Superman." The track
list is rounded out by performances from Damien Rice, Jem, Paul
Weller, Kinky, Sarah McLachlan and Steve Earle.
In related news, a planned Nov. 20 KCRW benefit concert at Los
Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre has been postponed until early next
year. The show was set to feature members of Coldplay, Rilo Kiley and
Nellie McKay.
