I'm co-moderator of the above Boston group and it's been a very emotional last few days.
A condolence book for Brad Delp is at:
Here's what I posted to it!
What a shocking event. This is a very sad day in melodic rock history. I hope he had recorded some tracks for the new Boston album and that Tom will release them and that the group will continue.
I saw Brad in concert just once - Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on 9/27/87. He and I slapped hands as he returned for an encore.
On Tuesday night, my 10-year old son, Joshua, and I were eating dinner at CiCi's Pizza when the Daryl Hall and John Oates song "Private Eyes" came on. I felt very sentimental because I was in 5th grade when that song came out, 25 years ago, and now Joshua is in 5th grade.
News of Brad's death came on the day that Eddie Van Halen announced that he is entering rehab. I hope Eddie will take advantage of this chance at a better life, while there's still time.
The end is probably closer than any of us think. Appreciate those who mean the most to you - not just your favorite musicians but even more importantly your loved ones - while they're here. And make the most of your life here. And most important, make sure you're prepared to stand in the presence of a holy God.
"You could be dead tomorrow; today may be your last chance."
