Thanks for the tip David. It's really Jan & Dean's original version of "Fan Tan" from the original master tapes? Sounds too good to be true, but I'll check it out. If it is true, I might have to pick up a copy of this.
I really do wish somebody would release on official version of the whole "Carnival Of Sound", using the original master tapes, or sources that are better quality than the bootlegs that have come out over the years.

There's a new box set going on sale Tuesday on amazon.com with Jan & Dean's Fan Tan on it. I played the 30-second preview clip and it sure sounds like it's from the master tapes.The set is called Where The Action Is! Los Angeles Nuggets 1965-1968 and it's from Rhino. It's about $40 and otherwise has mostly non-hits. Now, if Rhino would only license the whole Carnival of Sound album...David
