Jimmie will be playing in the play "Keep Your Head Up" Directed by
Mr. Jerry Capers "Keep Your Head Up" opens Friday."Keep Your Head
Up" is a play that debuted 12 years ago. It's the story of crime and
violence on the streets of Rochester. "Keep Your Head Up" is set to
open again because as the writer says, nothing has changed in the
last 12 years. Jerry Capers wrote the production about a dozen years
ago when murder victims in Rochester kept getting younger and
younger.

Now a decade since its last Rochester performance, "Keep Your Head
Up" contains the same message today as it did back then. "It brings
about an awareness and it also lets individuals that are dealing
with the loss of a loved one know that they can go on," Capers
explained. "The underlying message within this show is that if we
put god first all things are possible." It's an all local cast of
13. And the story these actors tell is one they all know too
well. "The role I play is the mother of an innocent victim who was
killed by a family friend," said Tiffany Bumphis. "So it kind of
hits home for me, even though nothing like this has happened in my
life, still having young, teenage boys in my life on a regular basis
it plays a big role for me."

It's a play many thought would have run its course by now. However
the topic is just as current today as it was 12 years ago. Capers
got the idea for the play after attending a meeting of Family and
Friends of Murdered Children and Victims of Violence. The
organizations founder, Audrey Smith, is a consultant for the
production. "It's very real," Smith says of the play. "It's so real
it brings back the memories of many of us the way it happened.

It's real, it's the real thing. They're playing a part but this is
real in life." "Keep Your Head Up" will run one night only at the
Armory 900 East Main Street. Tickets can be purchased at all Tops
markets or online at Tickets.com $25.00 in advance $33.50 at the
door.
