The Highsmith Owens Project CD Release Party and Fund Raiser for The
Advocacy Center May 20, 2006 8pm - 10pm Come out and enjoy a night of
hot jazz and cool art May 20, 2006 8pm - 10pm. Featuring local and
nationally recognized Jazz Musicians Jimmie Highsmith Jr., and Tyler
Owens as they celebrate the release of their new CD The Highsmith
Owens Project. All Proceeds from this event will be donated to The
Advocacy Center. There will also be a Cool Art Silent Auction by
local fine artists, great tasting food and beverage on May 20, 2006
8:00pm at Village Gate Square, 274 N. Goodman Street. Lips against
brass, great saxman Jimmie Highsmith Jr. presents one of the most
passionate, upbeat - and fun -shows with his infectious tunes and
strong stage performance. He blew his first notes at the age of seven
and hasn't stopped since. His captivating musical abilities blend
contemporary sounds with blues, swing and R&B influences. Highsmith's
jazz standards are nothing short of sublime – you'll find abundant
proof on his new CD, "Jacquin". Jazz vocalist Tyler Owens has
consistently delivered class music – cool, crisp and precise.
Together they turn up the heat for a superb round of a swinging music
and voice that's as good as it gets. We would like to introduce you
