When I purchased it from a 2nd hand music store, the dealer told me that it had just been serviced, which made me feel better about the purchase. I got it home & tried it out - what a fantastic beast!
But slowly I noticed that the main oscilators were drifting, like they were an old Voltage Controlled Oscilator needing to be reset.
It was very weird. I even managed to record the drift via MIDI - which you shouldn't be able to do... Record and repeat a DCO drifting via MIDI? Absurd! But I'd done it.
One of the annoying little things that I discovered with my K5000, was that the pitch bender would only work to pitch-bend notes down & not up! So I've got an oscilator drift & cannot pitch-bend up...
Only one thing to do! Bravely go where few have returned... I pulled-apart my K5000...

The link above is my blog of what I found, which turned out to be a very simple solution!
