So, where can we find you at Pennsic to buy these CDs?  Unfortunately I won't be singing with the full KWC this year, but I would like to purchase all three recordings... :-)

Regarding recordings
I posted back in april that I would have a stack of the CD's
with me at war. There is a recording of last year's concert on
one disk. There's a recording of "Music from the court of Vlad
the Impalier" on one disk and a third disk that will contain
"Best of from the last 5 years"
They will not be mass produced for re-sale. It's just for the
choir and friends and they will be available for $5 each just to
cover the cost of the disc and the studio time to mix and master
them. The studio time is in my brother Roman's studio. We are
editing out beeps, noise, cries, trucks, parades and trying to
create an ambience to the music with out the uh, ambience of
pennsic. It's better to listen to that way.
Many of the cuts will be loaded into the files sections as
MP3's.
:)

For anyone who isn't going to be at war this year, have a friend
get one to bring to you, or I'll send them when I get back from
Pennsic.

Well, my plan was to wander by rehearsal when I could AND I can
usually be found in the A&S point tent as I'm working with Asim this
year in the field. I am pretty sure that you can ALWAYS find Erlan!!
I might, if he lets me, leave a stack at Game Gnight which is a
games merchant accross from the Barn. Galen is a member of my shire
and has a little business and he might allow me to leave a stack-o-
cd's for members to pick up there.
And, I can always make some stops at camps during the war.

Something that my other list does before war is use the database on
yahoo for listing camping locations. So, there's the name and the
camp. That way if anyone wanted to find each other, they could jot
down the location before war. Would that interest anyone???
I would be happy to set up a data base on this group site for that
purpose?

Greetings good gentles,

I just found out about this group.  I have pre-registered to sing with you all at Pennsic and I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully "meet" some of you.  This group looks like it has wonderful resources; I am looking forward to meeting and working with you all.

I am from the Shire of Gates Edge in Ansteorra and sing regularly with the Stargate Madrigal Group.  Are there any other Ansteorrans here?

Thank you for allowing me to interrupt your conversations.

If it would be convenient, you could leave some at our merchant
stand (Magrebi Imports). Last year we were also across from the
barn, next to the bath house. I won't be there until the 2nd week,
but my husband could be convinced to help out :) (sorry, he
doesn't sing.)

Hey all. I set up a data base table on the site for those who would
like to add their camping space. It's set up so that you can leave
your name, group camping with, land area number (like N 21) and also
cross streets or land marks!. I didn't include arrival dates.
So, Ariana, you could actually print off the list prior to attending
war just in case you needed a way to reach people. this also gives
others a chance to see whose near, (for small group rehearsals and
practices!!!!!!)
Use it, fill it out, or not. It's your choice, but it's there for
ya!!

Remember last year the risers had serious problems at Pennsic? Has

I can check with Master John van der Velde, who I believe said at the end of last Pennsic that he was going to see about replacing/repairing the risers.  He's working in Technical Services this year. Stage management is his thing, mundanely.

Greetings Everyone!

There are now 80 people pre-registered for the Pennsic Choir.  Yipee!

The choir is, as expected, "Top Heavy".  We need more men!!!!  (& women of the tenor persuasion)...

Sooo...if all of you could persuade some of your Bass/Baritone and Tenor friends, aquaintences and others to join us, we will have a much more balanced sound.

Anyone who successfully recruits Basses/Baritones or Tenors  not already registered (who can actually sing in tune) will earn themselves an ice cream cone or cobbler....my treat. : )  Likewise, any new Basses/Baritones or Tenors who are recruited from this point forward, will earn a signing bonus of the same amount.  Please tell them to say who recruited them when they register.  (Can you tell that I'm a human resources manager? Sigh...)

Thanks for your help!
Cheers!

Greetings to you as well,
Did you receive my missive and my bio?
When I was with Sweet Adelines, I competed in Bass, Baritone and
Lead. If I ever have the time to go back to them, Tenor would be
next. When I was in 'The Mikado', last Spring 2006, for half the
performances I was a Tenor with the men and an alto with the women.
For the other half of the performances I was a Tenor with the men
and 'Katisha'. Does this help you decide where to place me? I will
go wherever you need me the most. I just need to know so I can start
working on the music.

I await your will,
mary-florence bartley

I heard back from Master John van der Velde.  Unfortunately, he is not involved in that aspect of Pennsic this year and does not know the status of the risers.  He cc'd Baroness Una Winifreed, the PA Tent coordinator, on his reply, so hopefully we will hear back from her.

FWIW, I plan to assist with the PA Tent and stage set up (and I encourage as many of you as will be available the first week to do the same - the KWC makes more use of the tent than any other group, many hands make light work, and besides, it's fun!).  I indicated to Master John that I would be happy to assist in repair of the risers if need be, since I have more than a passing familiarity with power tools.  :-)

As an added measure...my Lord Husband will be taking a look at the risers provided for us.  If we have any issues with the riser, he has agreed to do what he can to ensure that they are safe.  And yes...he is a professional. <grin>

Good Afternoon Everyone:

The good news is we have 80 people pre-registered.   Unfortunately, our basses are outnumbered 10 - 1.  One of our basses is unable to go to Pennsic.  We also lost a tenor.

Please continue to help recruit!  I'd be really delighted if we could get at least 10 basses.
(Recruitment Incentive of free ice cream is still available).

I have received 2 requests for bound music this week (Rebecca Hutchens & Diane Cohoe).  They will be mailed tomorrow.

Unfortunately, my employer has decided to schedule an out of town work retreat the Wednesday and Thursday before I leave for Landgrab on Friday. Yuck! This means that after Sunday, July 22nd, I won't be reachable...except on-site at Pennsic.  I came with Lochmere (Barony of)  We will most likely be in N18.  There will also be information at the A&S registration table and the message boards.  I will post a reminder in a few weeks.

Please continue to practice all the music...particularly Chantez a Dieu, Musica Die Ganz, and Tu Es Petrus.  You may want to consider speaking the words in rhythm before you try to add the notes.

Cheers!
Chris

May I join your group? I'm probably a tenor though

Greetings Alexandr.

Everyone is welcome tenor, bass, trained or untrained.  Its all good. .    Go ahead and register on-line and provided the requested information.  (I'll respond directly to your "registration message."  There are no "try-outs" but we can arrange to meet ahead of time and I can run you through a few vocal exercises and we can determine what part will work best for you.

Cheers!

I will not be able to attend Pennsic this year, so I would like you to send me one of each of the CD's when you return from war.  I will get back with you after Pennsic.  Claudia Willsea

Many of the cuts will be loaded into the files sections as
MP3's.
:)

For anyone who isn't going to be at war this year, have a friend
get one to bring to you, or I'll send them when I get back from
Pennsic.

Erlan
