I have to remember to watch the video the next time I'm on the library computers. (My dial up is too slow to watch them.

That also reminds me, I think I've seen info on masks with non electric kazooz. lots of different ways to do that. I'm getting some ideas for my project for next National Kazoo Day. Building a kazoo a day for a month. Hmmm, how to narrow the selection down to just 30?

She sang so well, loved the simplicity of the arrangement. Like that part where she double-tracks "dead" in a minor-second. Like the high flute against the low power of the bass and left hand of the piano. The exit coda with the guitar strums and her stacked la-la vocal at the fade. Thanks for putting this up".

"I loved it, and it reminded me of how very talented Linda LaFlamme was and still is! A timless delight".

"I was intrigued by the Linda LaFlamme material you converted from 1977... I was surprised to find it and glad you got it out there. It's very unique. I have been a fan of the first IABD album for a long time so I always was impressed by her playing and the fact that she was very responsible for the sound and the band's name. I just never knew what she did musically after those days except mention of her as a piano teacher. A few years ago she played as "neska" for a political fundraiser and I saw a description of the event and a mention that the people were really moved by her playing. I hope to hear her some day live, tell me if she ever does play out if you would.
If you talk to her soon tell her I said hi and really enjoyed her (1977) music '.

Thank you this is an interesting example of a double membrane mirliton (one of the many names for what we call kazoo)

I don't read French either, so I had to go by the pictures mostly. I THINK, that rather than using a paper towel or toilet paper roll, the instructions are to make a tube of thin cardboard, then cut out and glue the picture to it. It looks like whatever is used for the membrane ( I don't know if they had wax paper in France at the time) might cover both ends. decorative paper strips are cut out and glued to cover where the membrane was attached. The dark areas indicate diamond shape holes cut at each end of the tube. When assembled the player talks, sings or hums into one of the holes.

There were a lot of family type magazines in the early 20th century in Europe, which included such activities, games, etc.

Here is an Instructable I made on how to make a small easy to make and play kazoo. You could use any kind of picture for it. I would appreciate it if you would include the Instructable URL and/or the Kazooz group URL so we can let more people know about the group.

In 1989 I was employed by a local company as a special projects manager responsible for producing in-house training and safety films.

In late 1989 I was producing an in-house closed circuit
United Way Fund Raiser TV Show

On the afternoon of October 17, 1989, I was rehearsing for the show and had just finished video taping my rehearsal performance when at around 5:00 PM the floor started to ride up and down much like a small boat. Within seconds the full force of the quake hit and I found myself on the floor with ceiling tiles falling all around me.
Luckily I was unhurt and my primitive fight or flight instinct said...

Yes, that�s right sea dragons. The real thing! Well, sorta.

Nicker Stories is a place were �imagination becomes reality,�

and I can tell you personally, it�s nearly as much fun as a kazoo.

It has the most wonderful stories, for children of all ages

(just like a kazoo can bring out that hidden child inside you).

There are coloring pages, a special Nicker Calendar. And more things to see and do that � well, plan at least an hour �

The January 21 issue is all about Kazoos!

I�ll be there, teaching Nicker the sea dragon how to play the kazoo. I�ve taught so many before, but this is the first time I taught a family of sea dragons!

The following short explanation should answer most questions.

In the early 80's I programmed, realized, recorded and produced
a series of cassettes with the title.
"HYPNOSONICS"
A method of self-hypnosis� through biofeedback triggered music developed by Howard Capp CMH, which was featured in�
Keyboard Magazine in February, 1984.

WHAT IS IT ?

HYPNOSONICS IS� (NOT) NON OBJECTIVE TRANCE MUSIC.
It has NO beginning, NO middle and NO end.

It just starts someplace and stops someplace.
It is in the same family as Non Objective Art.

All HYPNOSONICS recordings are totally spontaneous.
There is NO planning, NO rehearsal, NO overdubbing.

All recordings are done in ONE session.
There are NO retakes and NO rejects.

Everything is exactly as it is...PERFECT !
It is best described as Repetitive Minimalism although sometimes it is Maximum.

In 2010 I'm making HYPNOSONICS in the same way.
