In honor of the release of the new album YA-KA-MAY, we are excited to announce several new dates across the country. These will include co-bills with Tea Leaf Green in New York and Philly and dates with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. ALO and T Bird and the Breaks have been confirmed as support on select dates. Check back soon for additional confirmations on guests and support.
Pre-sale tickets are available now!
Tea Leaf Green San Francisco-based jam band Tea Leaf Green got their start in the relationship between guitarist Josh Clark and drummer Scott Rager, who played in a high-school band together in Arcadia, CA. After graduation, Rager enrolled at San Francisco State College, where he met bassist Ben Chambers. When Clark moved to San Francisco, the three began playing together as a trio. Their first paying gig was attended by Trevor Garrod, a singer/songwriter and keyboard player who had moved to San Francisco looking for other musicians to play with. Garrod met the three others, and soon they
were playing together as a quartet.
Karl Denson's Tiny Universe A highly energized funk machine, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe has been expanding listeners' minds and making them move to animated grooves since 1998. Led by former Lenny Kravitz sax-man Karl Denson, the Tiny Universe brings a dynamic sound that defies categorization. The band members, Denson on vocals, tenor sax, alto sax and flute, guitarist Brian Jordan, bassist Ron Johnson, keyboard player David Veith, trumpet player Chris Littlefield and drummer John Staten, have earned a reputation as kings of the unstoppable all-night show.
ALO ALO is not a band that dwells in the past. They are always moving forward. Always striving to discover new ideas. Always looking to go on new adventures. Their latest adventure, Man of the World (to be released February 9, 2010 on Brushfire Records), finds the Cali collective flexing their considerable creative powers to craft their finest album yet. Recorded almost entirely live, the 11-song collection is the sound of four players who have truly found their groove together. This is ALO at their most natural, their most organic and their most pure. Man of the World is the next level for ALO.
T Bird and the Breaks T Bird and the Breaks have come on strong on the Austin music scene over the past two years.
They have seen their debut record consistently played on radio; they’ve sold out shows at the region’s top venues; and they’ve earned endless write-ups on their big, blood-boiling sound and a buzz that has people talking from Austin to London. T Bird and the Breaks embarked on a singles campaign in November 2009, releasing a two- song, 7-inch vinyl 45 every month. The band’s bass player wrote the following about the origin of the band and the players in it.
We are pleased to announce that we will offer a special VIP Experience for Galactic's New Years Eve Celebration! The package will include a VIP side entrance to Tiptiina's for the show, private upstairs balcony access for VIP viewing, an exclusive "Meet and Greet" with the band, a signed Galactic limited edition poster, a merch voucher from Tipitina's and free champagne at midnight! There is a Rex Foundation Musical Caravan event, Keller Williams at Great American Music Hall
from GAMH site:
"Keller Williams has built a career on his uncanny ability to captivate
a packed house—all by himself. He's been called a "one-man band." A
"solo cult-hero." "Music's mad-scientist." All of which are clever
labels for what seems to be an essential truth: On stage, Keller
Williams works alone.
For over 100 shows a year, Williams has proven himself to be a master
of improvisational performance art. In his one-man show, he pads
barefoot from guitar to bass to percussion stations, using looping
effects—and enough instruments to stock a strip-mall music store—to
layer sound atop sound until the stage swirls with a full-blown
composition.
While Keller has made liberal use of technology throughout his career,
he knows that musicianship is ultimately a human undertaking. With a
seemingly unquenchable thirst for all genres of music - bluegrass,
jazz, and—who'd-a-thunk-it—hard rock – occasionally Williams puts
unyielding faith in a backing band. Whether performing with solo or
with Grateful Grass, Keller, Moseley, Droll and Sipe or Grunge Grass
(just a few of his “band” projects), Keller Williams knows best how to
please a music hungry crowd."

Dear Lynn
In a groundbreaking decision, a federal judge ruled late Wednesday that the Army Corps of Engineers' mismanagement of the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet was directly responsible for flood damage of homes in St. Bernard Parish and the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Plaintiff attorneys Joe Bruno and Pierce O'Donnell said they expect to travel to Washington, D.C., as early as next week to try to convince members of the administration of President Barack Obama and members of Congress to consider revisiting requests for compensation by New Orleans-area residents in both the areas covered by the decision and in other areas flooded by corps-related failures of levees.
