My personal opinion is that the Kurzweil platform has been very
hard to support at the best of times. Even when the K2000 was the
main platform, Kurzweil specific stuff was very hard to get.
Most sample libraries just have there samples translated over. Its
very disappointing to find the 30 programs that loaded up with a
sample are all the same with different EFFECTS all labelled EQ1
then EQ2 etc.
What scares a lot of 3rd party developers is the amount of
programming you actually have to do to do a good Kurzweil
CDROM. The bar gets raised continually for them, making it a lot
harder. The shear amount of parameters and the evr spiralling
options been added can be a logistic nightmare.
Kurzweils allow you to not only play the sound, but the ability to
shape them. This taks a lot of time.
How many specific K2500 CDROMs were ever made?
Not many.
How many K2600 specific CDROMs will be made?
Even less then the first answer at this rate.
Like Tony has said, the best way is to support the companies that
DO create native Kurzweil products.
Cheers
