You are too right! :)
I'll be watching the Olympics this week, so I'll have to try and
catch up next week. Hope all the good people aren't gone by then! Ha!

Hello Lafans!
What are everyone's thoughts about the new AI? Obviously it won't be
that great, 'cause there will be no Leah, but I was wondering if anyone
was watching and if you are -- any thoughts?
Dee
Wow -- that sounds really crazy! Are we allowed to still have fansites?
I hope you are doing good, I haven't been e-mailing for a while but I still been reading everything and trying to keep up.
Now that AI has started again, are y'all posting in the offical AI website?

It is a sad day for AI fans... I am sorry.
Tomorrow afternoon, December 24th at 1PM Pacific time,
Leah will be singing the National Anthem for the kickoff
of the Seattle-Indianapolis game at Qwest Field. The last
time she did this for the Seahawks was December 6th, 2004.
I got an email from Clarence Acox who is the director
of the Jazz Band, he said,
"Leah gave a wonderful performance at the Winterfest
Concert at the Seattle Center last night. She sang
"Silent Night" & "This Christmas" by Donny Hathaway.
She was awesome."

Winterfest Featured Performance - Seattle's Best Jazz
December 16
7:30-9:00 p.m.
Seattle Center
305 Harrison Street
Seattle, WA 98109
This one-night only concert lives up to its name. The show will feature
the stylings of jazz vocalists Nichol Eskridge and James Cadell,
guitarist Charles E. Jones and Seattle's "American Idol: Season Three''
contestant Leah LaBelle. The award-winning Garfield High School Jazz
Band, led by Clarence Acox keeps the rhythms flowing.
Over 300 alumni and friends of Garfield gathered at the Seattle Grand
Hyatt on Wednesday, November 9, 2005, to start Building for Garfield's
Future! Clarence Acox led the Garfield Jazz Band, and Leah LaBelle sang
a soulful song. The event raised almost $40,000 for the Garfield High
School Foundation!
Pictures of Leah singing at the event are now posted on the website:

Title: Leah Labelle, American Idol Finalist 05/27/2004
KCTS Connects - Enrique Cerna talks to 17 year old Leah LaBelle, one of
American Idol's 12 finalists.

This past Sunday, Leah participated in the show for the Miss Washington
USA Pageant. She had this to say about the event:
"It was the Miss Washington Pageant and the Miss Washington Teen
Pageant joint--together in one... So there were 2 winners, Miss
Washington USA and Miss Washington Teen USA. The winners will go on to
the nationals to compete for Miss USA and Miss Teen USA.
I sang, 'I Believe I Can Fly' and it was amazing! I had so much fun,
because every time I perform I am so happy and in another place… So I
can't really tell you exactly what happened because once I'm off stage
I'm somebody else and I forgot what just happened... LOL. But my mom
said it was really good and the audience responded VERY well. They
loved it. The judges who were judging the pageant loved it too.
There were many celebrity judges and well-known people in the pageant
industry at the event. It was a great experience..."
Tonight Leah will be singing in a benefit concert. The Garfield
Foundation will be holding the gala benefit entitled: "Building for
Garfield's Future". The dinner and program on Wednesday November 9,
2005 will be at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 721 Pine Street in downtown
Seattle from 6:00-9:00 pm.
The Garfield Jazz Band will play under the direction of Clarence Acox,
accompanied by Leah Labelle, former American Idol contestant and 2005
graduate. The goals of the event are to raise funds for a tutoring
program that has been envisioned by Principal Ted Howard, in addition
to adding to the endowment, providing an ongoing source of monies for
enriching various programs at the school.
Nearly three hundred seats have been reserved for the event. Tickets
are $65.00. Please contact Joan Stewart at 206-325-9663 for more
information about attending.
Leah has been going from LA, NYC, PHILLY, ATL, and ORLANDO recording
and trying to finish a bunch of songs with different producers so her
lawyer can start shopping them to labels at the beginning of next year.
She has several performances coming up over the holidays!
TO ALL MY GORGEOUS LAFANS!!
You are all amazing. I'm sorry this is so late, but I've just been mad
busy! Forgive me. I want to thank you all for your wonderful gift and
for your kind giving hearts. I am blessed to have you in my life.
Take care and I Love you always.
-Leah LaBelle
Due to a breakdown in contract negotiations, Leah decided she would
seek new management and legal representation. The issue was not so
much with her producer, but with the management company, Sixthboro.
Leah had this to say Monday evening, "Of course I plan on going
forward. I will never stop. That is something I refuse to do. I will
never give up. Nothing in life happens smoothly and I am fine with
that. Every experience is a growth and a lesson. I believe that you
must work hard for what you want and the bumps that are in the way on
your journey only help to keep you feeling determined and that much
more excited when the time finally comes. I wouldn't appreciate
anything I have as much, if it came to me easily. I like the fact of
knowing that I had to go through a lot to get what I want and achieve
what I want. It's only better that way."
As for what will become of the songs on the demo she could not say,
but the album that was planned with Sixthboro this fall is not going
to happen now, as far as we know.
Leah has decided that she will not attend The University of
Washington this fall, but has applied to Berklee School of Music and
would like to begin there next January.
Because Leah had been working a lot of hours this summer, she
said, "I can't wait to get to Berklee, so that I can just be
around
music all the time and not have work stand in my way…"
We asked Leah about her work with Raz-B and she had this to say,
"Raz
B and I are just really, really, good friends. We talk all the time
and I just did a little bit of background on one of his songs. We
have talked about working together some more and doing some stuff for
me… But that's in the works. He needs to focus on getting his
album
out and promoting it and all that good stuff."
When we asked Leah where she had performed since graduation, she had
this to say, "I performed at this celebrity softball game put on
by
Jamal Crawford and Rashard Lewis. I sang The National Anthem…
That's
pretty much it. I sang at this little club with my friends one night
but it wasn't anything too big. I've been working too
much…"
Well, We all wish Leah the best this coming year and will be looking
forward to seeing a lot accomplished for her in the coming months.
You know she is determined to do it.
I have a blogsite that I put a link to join LaFans, and I registered
again here under another name. Just wanted to let you know it's me!
Hopefully it will help spread the word about Leah too!
Leah has sent out thank you cards to LaFans who sent her something for
graduation. From the cards I have heard about, she writes a personal
note and is thankful for all the love and support of the fans.
The next LaFan gift event will be Leah's 19th birthday. YAY!!!!
If you would like to contribute, "HOLLA" at one of the LaTeam on
LaFANS.ORG. We can accept contributions until September 1st, 2005.
Leah will be in NYC for most of August finishing her debut album for
Sixthboro Entertainment. Fanatic let us know that many of the recording
sessions will be filmed as well. As soon as the recording is finished,
Fanatic will provide some audio clips to us so that LaFANS everywhere
can hear a few samples from the album!!
GO LEAH!
We have successfully moved LaFANS.ORG to Yahoo! and what that means for
LaFans everywhere is BETTER ACCESS.
We have made many new changes to the site and really hope you like it.
If you would like to see something more... Just let us know!
Thanks,
stuttle
